This firmware is for the all new Starview HD combo unit twin tuner sat and cable connection.
Modded version of the file is now below combined sat and cable file
The firmware below is only the FTA software at present but a modified 1 should be available within the next few days.
This unit is NOT N3 so it will still only get you what you have in Ireland at the present time nothing more.
Loading the firmware is simple just follow directions below
Load the Starview_HD_Combo_0347_1029 file on to a Memory stick,
then insert the Memory stick in the front USB port on the receiver.
Now press the menu button on the remote now go to Accessory and highlight USB,
then press the OK button on the remote,
you will now see the Starview_HD_Combo_0347_1029 file in the USB menu.
Go to the file and press the OK button on the remote then select S/W +All Data Update to load file.
When the file as been loader then go to 12:02 01/11/2009 Utility and Factor (DB)
Resetto do a Factory Reset. The job is now done.

whats the price? and to be honest is it worth the upgrade as all will be n3 soon,but it does look a nice piece of kit.

there is only Free to Air firmare at present, the box is only new, so I would think it will be a while before there is some reports rolling in

Here is the modded version of the FTA one above its a combined sat and cable file so can be used for both.
Loading Instructions
Load the GrooveRider File file on to a Memory stick,
then insert the Memory stick in the front USB port on the receiver.
Now press the menu button on the remote now go to Accessory and highlight USB,
then press the OK button on the remote,
you will now see the GrooveRider File in the USB menu.
Go to the file and press the OK button on the remote then select S/W +All Data Update to load file.
When the file as been loaded then go to Utility and Factory (DB)
Reset do a Factory Reset. The job is now done.
Now
Go -to Key Edit menu Hidden function(Toggle method) Press ?8989? on the RCU on the menu (Accessory)
: if you Autoupdate is ?off? you should switch it to ?on? to make it enabled.

the box is a combined sat and cable box, so will work fully in the UK on both and in Ire, will work on sat and some cable chans

Please bare with me as I am a newbie, have installed the new modded file on box, keyed in 8989 but can't find autoupdate in the key code menu. have scanned the box and am recieving sat FTA channels but no cable channels at all, checked all symb rates but no joy, any ideas, sat channels look great!

Load grooverider file on to your usb memory stick, make sure power is off on machine.
Insert the memory stick into the front usb socket underneath the front flap.
Turn the HD Combo on.
From the main menu goto Utility and then press the right arrow button and select usb from the right hand side,
you will see the grooverider file press ok on it and make sure to select SW+ALL DATA UPDATE..
the machine will update and restart
(don't pull your memory stick out until the machine has fully started up)
you now need to scan your channels,
so go to installation press the right arrow button again and go down to AUTO CABLE SEARCH all you need to change here is the symbol rate.
The symbol rate determines your area for example ntl is 6887, the other 6952 are for telecast and EXc&w.
When you have selected your area go to start scan.
once the scan has finished goto menu then highlight accessory and on the remote press the numbers "8989" you will then see
"keyedit" appear on the right hand side, go to it and press ok and just check that auto update is on if its off just turn it on.
then goto to your channels by exiting the menu and pressing ok.. Select a non FTA channel and leave it until a picture appears
PLEASE NOTE IT CAN TAKE UPTO 5 MINUTES TO UPDATE
Channel list..
all your channels are categorised
pressing ok on your remote brings up the
channel list but it will be in simple layout, pressing the red button takes you to detail, now if your list don't appear to be categorised
you will need to press the SAT button on the remote and you need to select cable at the bottom of the list this will then give you the categories,
to change each section you simply use your left or right arrow buttons.

Thanx clairb all up and running, just doing some tests on the pvr and epg once complete will let you know what i think but all looks great at the moment.

Grooverider's instructions have got me going with v*m. A lovely responsive box with good build quality and picture/sound quality.
I am trying watch some irdeto channels on eurobird 9. Any ideas how to get this box to work with hotbird / eurobird etc. please. Thanks.

Like MICKAH said its a gamble. I personally think the rollout of NAG 3 is gonna take a long time depending what area your in. Smartcard rollout has begun in a trial area up north but for instance London Is the biggest and most complex city to rollout for so many different reasons it must be a logistical nightmare. It will probably be the last area effected reckon at least 6 months but thats only my opinon. I like the new test channel telling you the your services will be off soon. Soon... reckon my might be working till at least Joone!

there is always a gamble when your trying to exploit a system nag3 is some way off in england **Y charge upto £70 pm for full HD package and ******m charge around £40 if you get a good service from what i see is a good product for 6 months your quids in.
if you've got an old **y dish try realigning it to hot bird or eurotel this box will pick up all the Transponders

Good points 4 months will pay for the box any more is a bonus and at the end still have a HD sat box with HD freeview .
Will be getting it ordered tonight.

It picks up the transponders and tunes into the channels. However, it is not decrypting them eventhough it's working with cable ok.
