I'll keep this short and sweet...and yes I did use the search function. I was updating my firmware on my Hitachi 78 and boom...the power went out. Bricked my console life now sucks but i still have the original firmware. I have another box with the RROD (Samsung MS25) It is also modded but I do not have the key to it. First off is my bricked box completely a gonner. I've heard the horror stories about the Hitachi's so I'm thinking yes. If thats the case is it possible to spoof the Samsung without the original Samsung firmware using the Hitachi firmware??? I have both JungleFlasher and Toolbox but the process is a little confusing to me.

Yes, you can dump and change the key from the samsung drive to the hitachi key if you managed to get the key off of it before it died. Use jungle flasher or fw toolbox. Spoof the samsung to hitachi and use the hitachi key.

Yes. You just a need Samsung firmware. It doesn't have to be the original. Any hacked on will do and you of course need the Hitachi's DVD key.

I'm using the hitachi key on the samsung. both jungle flasher and toolbox are not detecting my drive

yes i flashed the hitachi drive using the same set up I have now (using toolbox) I've been at this for hours its frustrating as hell!!!
