Just bought a wii off ebay and I tried softmodding it. Followed all the steps in a couple threads and each time I put the files on my SD card and put it in the wii and go to select SD card it freezes on me. My wii version is 2.2. Any help would be excellent. Thanx in advance

You need to update the system to 3.X in order to use Bannerbomb. So use a game disc to update to 3.X and above firmware.

A game disc will update this automatically? i am not connected to the internet

As long as it has an update on the disc it will update from the disc.

So find a game disc with an update and update it.

HERE is a list of games that have firmware updates on them. Just make sure you use a game disc 3.0 or higher.

After you update the system use the 4.1 softmod guide in my sig to softmod your system.

If you put in a game that needs an update then it will automatically ask you to update.

So use the link I provided above and find a game that has a 3.X system menu firmware on it and update it.

the only 2 games i have now are call of duty 3 and mario strikers charged

I gave you the information you need. So get a game somehow that has a 3.X system firmware update on it and update your system.

yes because if you don't have the system softmodded or have a hardmod then you will not be able to play the game.

ok got a new game and it updated to 3.3. installed everything correctly. burnt game using poweriso and put it in and clicked on the wii disc in the very top left corner"unable to read disc" clicked on backup loader and it wouldnt load. I burnt the disc at 4X with a sony dvd+r. What is wrong now?

Use IMGBurn with quiality DVD-R media (Verbatim/Tayio Yuden). Burn at half the rated burn speed of the media.

If you want you can try to booktype the DVD+R media your using to to DVD-ROM to see if that will help. Use this guide HERE on how to do that using IMGBurn.

Have you tried using gamma loader? It sounds like you are using the disc channel but did you mod your system to use the disc channel to load burned games? Follow Larry's guide to the T and you can't go wrong. If you skip over the part where you mod the disc channel to load your burned game then you can still load it using gamma loader.
