I hoping that my active.iso wasnt burnt correctly, it taken 6 mins for it to finalise disk, is this normal. When looking at the disk it seems the whole of the disk is burned, is this also normal.
Reason being is that it takes me 24 hours to download a game and my COD:MW2 isnt working, tried on Sammy 1.6 with this active.iso disk and then upgraded to 1.61 and it still didnt work (Just says play DVD)
Even tried patching to a wave 3 title and still failed :(
There should only be a little bit around the ring that shows it is burned. It took about 4 or 5 minutes to finalize. The activate iso only need to be written the first layer. With ImgBurn, right click on the activate iso, click burn, it will prompt you about being able to fit on a dvd+r, continue anyway. Then it will say something about normal splitting it to both layers, or it can stray away from the norm and burn it on layer 1. You want to click yes to stray away from the norm and burn on 1 layer only.
I have a BenQ with 1.61 and I used the activation disc. It says Play DVD so i eject it and put in the game, MW2, and it says play game and shows the game pic. I press play and it wants to install an update so I choose, "install". So it applies update, reboots, and does it all over again and again. Now my avatars are gone. HA. Glad this is my clunker. Any reason it would continue to install updates over and over? Tried 2 burns.... Same thing
I think the reason it keeps rebooting is because it is trying to install the new firmware for wave 4 but since you changed it, it will just keep rebooting trying to install it, try flashing the firmware with your own.
If you get the update message that keeps repeating, simply download the dashboard update from xbox website and follow the instructions on how to install it to your xbox. I used the usb flash drive installation which worked.
