I have burned 3 games and all successful with ABGX. I am only going to play the ones that I have burned, but on my system I have save game files from discs that were burned by someone that never bothered with ABGX. Additionally, some of those games were NTSC (Im in PAL UK). Im not going to play these "unsafe" games online, so my question is that by having save files from these unsafe games can MS check this and ban me on these grounds. Or do they only check the game you are playing (which in my case will be a relatively 'safe' ABGX burn).
Additional info-Im not playing games pre-release date and am I safer on wave 2s than wave 3s and 4s? because I mainly want to play Gears2 and pre wave 3 games.

Nobody really knows what MS uses to ban people. However, if I had to guess, I would assume that if you have never played a 'bad' backup in your 360, then you should be okay.

As far as wave 2 vs wave 3 or 4, there isn't a difference between them in regards to how safe they are to play, as long as you follow the rules, which you definitely seem to do.

ok thanks. Im just worried about my "unsafe" saves. Most are for games Ill never play again so I might just wipe them clear. Not that Im bothered too much about achievements, but will deleting my save files on these games delete all of my achievements?

The issue about playing games from another region even if they are RF is that if game A was never released in your area, how was you able to play it? True, people can own a legit system from another region but MS may be able to check for that. So, I wouldn't worry myself but if I did get banned then I wouldn't be surprised.

You imported it? You bought it off eBay? There's an independent game store in my town that sells imports. They had copies of Ghostbusters for the 360 in about a week after it was released in the US. It's still not out officially here until November 6th. If MS didn't want you playing games from different regions, then why even make some games region free?

Actually, thats up to the dev/pub to do region coding.

It is, yeah, but the point still stands. If I can legally import a copy of Ghostbusters from America, then it seems foolish to make it region free if MS are going to ban me for playing it.

ok thanks I should be ok then, I have got NTSC versions of CoD3 and CoD4 but like you said, I could have just bought them on ebay. The other factor I am worried about as mentioned above is save game files from games that havent been verified by ABGX. Thinking about it surely MS wouldnt be able to tell from just a save game file, as I recently copied an unverified unsafe copy, ran it through abgx and burned it so that it was verified. When I put it in the xbox it didnt change the save game file or anything, so the 360s memory must store only simple data like which level I was on etc. Im going to try it, do a free month, if I get banned I havent lost anything.

So I am on live. 2 days and no ban.
I dont get what the fuss about xbox live is though. I thought there was a lobby system or at least some way to see if there are any games going on. How do you people put up with it? I went to play horde on public settings and it took about 20 minutes trying to find other players. Surely accross the earth there were 4 other players on Horde. I hadnt specified a level or difficulty or anything, I just wanted to play anything. When I finally did get on I had to vote between 2 crap levels, got to about wave 7 and then the host decided he'd had enough and exited the game. Dont see why just because one player leaves we all have to stop, but that is what happened! Even though we all have the game it cannot be played for some reason without the host, which considering internet problems and busy gamers it seems an absurd thing for epic to do.
Then I went on left 4 dead. A game I have only played once offline was made even harder by either timeshifting zombies or lag, but I persisted and got ten good minutes of play before a 13 year old American kid (he said how old he was upon his unwelcome arrival)came in and shot the shit out of me whilst I was reviving another team mate he had felled. Again, seems careless that friendly fire can occur considering the amount of trigger happy imbeciles that are about.
GTA IV I couldnt even find the multiplayer mode!
CoD4 I was up against seasoned experts so I was a fish in a barrel.

To summarise- I highly doubt that my £40 will be spent on a years worth of this.

To help me decide, could someone tell me if many live members play co-op campaigns? Im not interested in deathmatches, but will probably subscribe if I can play RE5/ODST/Gears etc online co-op. Or are you all about the mass homicides with no story or context?
