Hi All,

let me lay out what i have and what has happened.

Flashing a benq xbox from 1.5 to 1.61
Running Win 7 64bit <--- i know 32bit is recommended for this procedure
Via controller (disabled all 3 of the recommended driver files)

I used a combination of Dosflash64 and Jungleflasher to attempt to flash my drive.

So I flashed the drive sucessfully then I erased it again. I flashed it with the same firmware I just had on it. So I did it again but on the second time my xbox center light keeps flashing green. it must still be in vendor mode. so now dosflash64 recognizes the drive but wont allow me to erase or write to the drive.

so my benq drive wont open and wont allow me to erase or write to it. its just sitting here with no firmware on it and im not sure what to do next.

Can I fix this without spending money and have my wife nag me to death?

Thanks everyone

P.S. I used this tutorial win7

The flashing light does not indicate vendor mode, this is a common misconception. Have you tried clicking Benq Unlock in the MTK Flash 32 tab again?

You did save a copy of the firmware with your DVDkey right?

You need to create the custom firmware in Jungle Flasher and save it. Once you have done that, start up DosFlash and skip the Magic28 and Geremia's method and do the last one. You will be disconnect the drives power cable and plugging it back in within one second. Once you get good flash chip properties, change the option to write. Click write firmware and then navigate your saved iX 1.61 bin.

thanks for the quick reply guys.

MTK flash tab didn't do anything for me. I figure because its not 64bit friendly

Yes, I still have my orig.bin of my original firmware but I cant get dosflash64 to recognize the drive like it did originally. Like you said it will ask me to do the half open tray trick and I go through all the steps but I don't even get prompted for that anymore.

it just reads the drive with no firmware on it. its showing up though, i guess thats good.

when I go to write it just hangs also.

it might make it easier if I post some screenshots when I get off work.

There has to be a way I can reflash this drive.
