What is MS telling us.

Its clear MS is trying some new tricks since they sent out a handful of updates just before Christmas much like last year just before the last big wave ban. The fact that MS doesn?t want these systems to be able to copy games to there HD makes me think there must be a reason for it. Possibly they can?t detect a burnt game running off the hard drive when its only using the first sectored on the disk. Of perhaps there not able to probe the FM if the games isn?t running of the ROM drive. If this can be confirmed then all modded systems should be running there games of the HD. Any thoughts???

one major flaw in this is whats it matter if your banned, they no longer need those checks since its banned. I think they are only doing it to discourage modding. since they can't stop you playing games all together they can at least stop you from using a new software feature.

360 Benq ixtreme 1.6, Talismoon Whispermax (blue), custom window, black metallic paint, western digital 120gb hard drive
Wii (launch console) 3.3 Twilight Hack wiigator .3g

My thoughts exactly and also they may be concerned about illegal privacy issues created by remotely probing hard drives fishing for information. I know on the PC side of business that could get them into big trouble. You need a court issued warrant to do that. However they can do what ever they want on the ROM data as it SHOULD be read only.

That crossed my mind but I also wondered what if there trying to create a way for there phone reps be able to determine a modded system right over the phone? And IF we are right, and games running off the HD looks no different then a real game then it would make since to disable that feature. Also what is the first question MS will ALSO ask??? Do YOU HAVE the latest software? If no then you need to update before we can help you.
