i just got a Vantec UGT-ST300 SATA/eSATA PCI Host Controller can i mod my benq with that ?

I doubt it, but who knows, so try it and see.

I looked it up here, and it says nothing about having a "VIA 6421" chipset on it, so I doubt it'll work.

Try one of THESE cards instead.

I have an Intel chipset on my motherboard and it works fine. The VIA chipset isn't required, it is just a known-to-be-compatible chipset.

You might as well give it a shot before spending money you don't have to spend.
