i think its a lite-on, the wires inside are yellow. anyways what exactly do i need to flash the firmware? someone told me that these new drives are unflashable is that true?
Ya there is a new series of LiteOn Drives that are unhackable at the moment. So if you just got your box back from M$, then it most likely is the unhackable one. I was talking with gameover9 earlier, and he said that he got one back with the unhackable drive!
dang, my xbox was manufactured in September, so im guessing its the new drive. any guesses on when the new drive will be flashable? weeks? months? never?
any guesses on when the world will end? Let the firmware team take their time, as soon as the drive becomes very popular, it will be looked at moree and be flashable. (maybe not)

Some of the new ones are hackable. There is no way of telling other than attempting to dump the key.
