I have a PSP PHAT. An OG 1.5 one. It recently started to have problems running on battery power. The battery shows 3 bars and is 90% or more charged and while playing a game, the battery out icon pops up and the psp turns off. I replaced the battery with a new Sony battery and it still happens.

I thought it might be the CFW I'm running so I upgraded to Gen D2. Still happens. It plays fine when plugged in but dies after a few minutes when unplugged. The battery shows fully charged or like mentioned earlier over 90% charged. Any help on this one?

i cant imagine CFW having anything to do with that... sounds like a hardware issue... since you already tried replacing the battery it is prob something you can't fix...

I'd hate to have to send it in to Sony to have them repair it. I guess if needs be I'd have to downgrade it back to 1.5. is there a downgrader for Gen D2 to 1.5?

So how can I drain my battery completely? I want to try a straight up drained battery and new charge with a new AC cable. I tried charging it as it was and it did seem to last longer but it still died dropping from 2 bars to zero bars.

I neglected to mention that this started after I upgraded to the 5.00 m33 CFW. I've read of similar issues with CFW but the charging error is different than mine. Is there a downgrader to go from 5.50 D2 back to 1.5 without a pandora? I guess it really doesn't matter too much since I have 2 batteries.
