i have a benq drive that was previously flashed with 1.6 and the guy doesnt have the key, the console playes all games fine, i was just wondering wut are the steps to obtaining the key from an already flashed drive in jungle flahser so it can be updated with 1.61 , if its not the same as getting the key from A stock drive.
easy.. use jf, click on read, it will read the current firmware on the drive, show your key etc.. then you just load ix1.61 in the target field, click on spoof source to target, then write.. and your done.
it is that easy. Once you already have 1.6 etc, really all you need to do is read and write. thats it.

the thing is, i do have to put the drive in vendor mode, so do i just click intro and power the drive off and on real quick, and do i have to do it with the tray have closed? The reason i ask is cuz some ppl say half tray some say u dont
When I first flashed my BenQ to 1.6 I used this guide.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/781253 When I went to update to 1.61 I used it again but I tried the BenQ unlock and it didn't work so I ejected the tray and unplugged the dvd drive from the back. I pushed the tray half way in and plugged the power back in. The tray will stay open. Then press BenQ unlock and it should read and put into vendor mode. Follow the guide from there and it should work perfectly.
You can try to unlock it before doing the above and it may work just fine.
Also, make sure you have the most recent jungleflasher and it will auto patch 1.61 now.

ok i didnt know you use the Benq Unlock unless u have a stock drive, so u didnt need to intro the drive at all to get it in vendor mode?
Im new to but i just intro click ok then wait about 3 second pull the power cable to benq then plug in right away like within a second have to be fast then it goes into vendor everytime for me. I made my own power supply for benq.

but u are talking about a drive that was prevously flashed with iextreme before u did this to get it in vendor mode to get the key right?
This is just the way I did it and it worked just fine. Obviously there are other ways that take a little less time and I will give them a shot.
And there are people with far better knowledge, than I, on the matter.

but u are talking about a drive that was prevously flashed with iextreme before u did this to get it in vendor mode to get the key right?
right it was flashed with 1.6 but I had no trouble getting into vendor from stock firmware..
