connectivity kit with lite-on flashing?

I have this drive: dg-16d2s lite-on
I was reading something about having to use a connectivity kit with lite-ons. Is it with ALL lite-ons (and will i need one/how much are they?)...

hi does it say firmware 74850c? if so you will need a key reader (probe) and connectivity kit is optional but makes it really easy.

you will need to see if your PC has a SATA connection, if it doesnt you need to buy a via card.

I recently flashed mine and bought a kit off ebay... if you ebay the terms "connectivity kit v3" it should come up some seller called digadget or something.

they provide their own tutorial which is really easy to follow

not at all, it took me no more than 5min to flash it. I'd suggest getting the CK kit because it makes everything so much easier with the built in power switch it has.
