hi,
i want to move my music playlists from old ps3fat to ps3 slim, but after copying a playlist then sticking it on the slim, the playlist order is lost, despite an m3u text file bieng copied by the old ps3 along with the music tracks.
is it possible ?, i am aware the playlists can be copied succesfully to a psp, but there is no way to copy the playlist back to a ps3 ?
why does sony leave out such vital functions ?, i regret ever getting a ps3 in the first place, failed bluray drive after 20 months, and now big problems getting my stuff on the new ps3.
can i import my itunes playlists into the ps3 ?
update---
well ive just done a full system backup, told by turd sony that a full system backup would transfer my playlists, and guess what, it bloody does not.4 hours of my life wasted, no playlists backed up and pictures and videos stripped of their album names, and copy protected saves lost.
DAMN YOU TO HELL SONY, YOU ROTTEN CONNIVING DEVIOUS SODS, why will you not allow basic user functions, why do you deliberately try to annoy your users.
im thinking of taking this piece of toss ps3 back to the store and demanding my money back, its sold under a lie that its a multimedia console, how can it be when a user has to rename all his media files and redo playlists from scratch when migrating from another busted ps3.
PS3 USERS, WAKE UP, SONY ARE DEVIOUS AND WANT TO FRUSTRATE YOU AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, DONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT, THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST UNRELIABLE CONSOLE AROUND, JUST WAIT TILL YOUR BLUERAY DRIVE PACKS IN JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD, AS HAS MINE AND ALL MY FRIENDS TOO.
then you buy a new ps3 and rotten sony wont let you copy anything of worth across, so if youve SPENT MANY MONTHS CREATING MULTIMEDIA AND MUSIC PLAYLISTS AND GAMES PROGRESS IN SOME GAMES, YOU ARE SCREWED COS YOU WILL HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH COS STINKIN SONY WONT ALLOW YOU TO COPY EM, EVEN YOUR OWN WORK.
DAMN YOU SONY, DAMN YOU TO HELL.
I SHALL INFORM ALL I CAN OF YOUR ROTTEN UNDERHAND ACTIONS.
IM GONNA GET MY MONEY BACK, COS THIS PIECE OF RUBBISH MACHINE IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, AS MY 60GIG MODEL WAS NOT ALSO.
IM BLOODY FURIOUS THAT I AM DENIED THESE BASIC AND VITAL FUNCTIONS, sony are negligent and con artists.

...my refurbished launch unit's still ticking flawlessly...
And if those are basic and vital functions, then... well, I'd better start doing a full physical on myself.
Nah, I kid, I kid.
I've never bothered, but you can't just back it playlists to flash drive? Your saves as well?

man i wish it was that easy, playlists and copy protected saves can not be restored onto another ps3 either by copying the files to a flash drive or even by a full system backup.
why not one may think, why not indeed, bloody sony.

And in other news, "copy protected saves" means exactly that... not too hard of a concept to wrap your mind around. Sony has absolutely zilch to do with you not being able to copy the copy protected saves, as the protection is put in place by the game developers.
On a related note, not only can I copy iTunes playlists to my PS3, it also has not seen any hardware failures in 35 months of daily use, rendering the rest of your rant moot. Or, since I've previously stated that anecdotal evidence is worthless, let's just rely on the empirical data as a more than apt rebuttal to your claim of the PS3 being "the most unreliable console.
Sorry you feel you've wasted a precious four hours of your life trying to copy the copy protected saves and whatnot. Out of curiosity though, how much more have you wasted by posting multiple threads stomping your feet like a petulant little child?
Learn to employ some logic and relax- not only will you not be so consumed with misdirected anger, you'll also live longer.

You could have more than likely remade all your playlists, and restarted the games which you "lost" saves for.
Copy protectetd saves are a good idea. Hopefully something of that nature will be used with MW2, which may stop all the "hackers"/glitches ruining that game like they attempted with COD4.

well, im glad your ps3 has served you well, but fact is mine and my mates have not, all blueray drive failures.
my xbox 360 has been stirling and reliable for 3 years, no rrod, but of course we are all aware that the 360 does have known faults, hence the 360 3 year warranty.
exceptions dont prove the rule.
you say you have achieved something but dont say how you did it, ie, itunes playlists transferred to ps3, did you succed in getting your actual playlists (not just your itunes music library, thats easy) into the ps3 music playlists section ? if so, could you please explain how, i would be eager.
