I am about to loose my mind, so yesterday after trying to flash a LiteOn Drive my computer locked up at the Write Stage and now the Liteon Drive is Erased without any firmware.
It is a 73850c...
I have tried to Intro in JF but the status is stuck at 0x52 and will not go into Vendor Mode.
I am now trying iPrep version the latest one (10.1) to do the Write only command but for some reason this is also failing as it is trying to read the Keys from the drive and it is obviously erased!
I try and use DosFlash but again MTK Vendor Intro fails..
I am seriously stuck and need some help! I have the Dummy, Identify and Inquiry, I also have the Drive Key and I have created a Lite_CFW, I just can't get the damn thing onto the drive...
Go into the iprep BACKUP folder on your USB drive or whatever you are using to boot iprep (i use an SD Card).... create 2 folders with your serial# 1234567 12345 with 12345 being inside of 1234567.
If you already have the folders on there with your serial# put the dummy, inquiry, identify, & key file in 12345 folder.. make sure you don't put the LitCFW.bin file on there...... if you already put it in there delete it as we are going to create it......... now boot up iprep... 1st dump your FW.. dLit 1234567 12345 and follow the instructions... hit N when it asks you about retrieving the key... it should create your LitCFW.bin file and it should say the key looks good... now flash it... fLit 1234567 12345 make sure u power cycle the drive when it tells you to and follow the instructions and all should be good...
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

If I put the dummy, inquiry, identify and key file in the 12345 folder, will it read from the 12345 folder? At the moment when I get to the main menu it asks me to press
L74 1234567 12345
I do that and then it asks me to power cycle drive and then probe the drive in the R707. After this it fails to read the key, identify, inquiry and dummy because the drive is obviously erased..
So in doing the method outlined above will it still dupe iPrep into thinking that this has come from the drive and not by me putting it into the folder?
In the new iPrep there is no command of dLit, it starts with L74...

Worked like a charm for me when I was in the same situation just a few days ago.
I tried to use DoshFlash which was already in iPrep but that resulted in the MTK Vendor Intro Fail.
Is DosFlash 32 separate to the one embedded within iPrep... could you maybe run through it for me as to how to do this? The drive is ALREADY ERASED and has no firmware on it... so can it still technically be ERASED again??
Yes, DosFlash 32 is a separate program that runs in Windows.
And yes, of course you need to write to the drive. However, you must erase it first. When you erase a Lite-On it will put the drive into 0x72 (vendor) mode and then you can write to it.
