I've used DVD X Copy Platinum to put the files on my harddrive and now that I am ready to burn, DVD X Copy won't let me browse my harddrive to get the files to burn to DVD. How can I used DVD X Copy to burn these files and is there another program that I can use to burn these files from my harddrive?

thx

I haven't used XCopy in a dog's age but we do have a dedicated forum for 321's products here:

Hope this helps :)

Unless you've designated a particular folder for Xcopy to save your files in and have copied those ripped files while Xcopy was prompting you for a blank disc they aren't on your HD. Xcopy saves them in a temporary folder and deletes them when done.

Nero will burn these files using the default DVD-Video setting.

I did designate a folder for the files to be saved in and they are currently there. I can play the individual files but don't know how to burn those files using xcopy. But your saying that Nero can do this? Is there a free download for it?

thanx

There's a 30-day trial for Nero here:

http://nero.com/us/index.html

It is a very fine, comprehensive suite of tools and well worth the money :)

I've tried to download it once and when i installed it, I got a message that told me that I had tried to use an unauthorized copy or something like that. But I will go and make sure that the old files are gone and clean out the registry. I have never used Nero but did try to install it. I'm still fairly new to all this.

thanx

Hi guys,
Another method would be to get DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. (both free)

Just use Shrink in the "open files" mode, browse for your files and then select create an ISO Disc Image in your Back-up! settings and enable Decrypter to burn. You don't even need to open Decrypter. Just have it installed.

As Nephilim said the Nero download has a fully functional 30 day trial period. The message you got was probably prompting you to insert a SN - you don't need it yet. Also you only need to d/l the Nero Burning Rom part of Nero. Download the latest vesion - 6.3.1.6.

Read through the 'Burning pre-authored DVD-Video using Nero' guide on the Afterdawn main screen. You'll drag & drop all your IFO, BUP and VOB files into the compilation and then burn.

There are some excellent Guides on the Nero website - 'User Guide Nero Burning Rom 6' is worth a look.

luck-

I got Nero to install. I messed up five dvd-r's before I figured it out but hey...i'm a master now (well kinda). I had the write speed at 4x and it errored near the end but it works fine on 2x. I will try the shrink and decrypter way also. I want to thank everyone for their assistance. I also have a question if someone could IM (yahoo) at most1edbabydaddy.

thanx
