Hi all. I softmodded a friends wii the other day using the famous Larry guide,I wanted to do an update from 3.3E that he was on, to 4.1 using waninkoko's 4.1 updater. But I got an 116 error. Looked it up and that is an internet problem. The connection test showed a success though??? Also tried an updater by Ade's 4.1 updater-same thing. WHY??
Only thing I could think of is that you need to be on at least 3.4 fw for it to work, as that's what I was on when I done mine.
Any other thoughts?

Rely on the network connection displayed on HBC instead. It should tell you if you are connected to the network, because it'll display your IP address. Otherwise, it will say network not initialized. Once you have confirmed that you are hooked up to the network,try updating using Waninkoko's Firmware Updater 4.0 first; afterwards, update to 4.1.
