Hi,

I am about to update my box to iXtreme 1.61 from 1.5 but am having a hard time getting my Intro/Device ID to show up under the MTK Flash 32.

This is what I have done right so far.

I've flashed my BenQ to iXtreme 1.5 successfully. Now I'm back to get my wave 4 backups to play am struggling with the basics.

I go into MTK Flash 32 tab of JungleFlasher and get my console recognized in Drive Properties. Then I select Intro/Device ID, do the power cycle and when it is Re-sending Vendor Intro it gives me "Device Intro Failed" after four-five lines of dots.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Anyone please help.

Are you using the drive tray half open method to unlock it? You have to do that with a BenQ drive that's already flashed to 1.5 or above. With stock drives or if an older version of iXtreme is installed, you can just use the "Benq UnLock" button, but that won't work in your case.

Eject the tray, unplug the power lead, then push the tray half shut and put the power lead back in (make sure you put it in the right way around!!).

thanx for the response, but I'm thinking that i have the wrong setup. I have one end of my sata cable going to the dvd drive and one to my via card. Then I have the "white-tip cable" running from the drive to the console.

Then I go ahead and start up JungleFlasher and when it's on I power the drive into B-mode by ejecting the tray, pulling the power cord from the back of the console, then plugging it back in and turning the system on, while making sure that the tray does not close. Then green light starts blinking and "I'm assuming that the console is in the right mode"

I did not understand what you meant by "power lead" whether you were referring to the thin cable that has white plastic tips and that runs from the drive to the console or the general thick power cable that runs from the console to the power socket.

Sorry for sounding like a newb, but I lack the technical terminology to describe it any other way.

thanx

Power lead = Power cord. Same thing.

You are pushing the tray half way in after you pull the power cord out, right? I'm guessing you probably are, you just left that bit out of your post, but if you're not doing that, that's probably your problem.

nothing works so far.

powered w/ tray half-way, the message is still "re-sending Vendor Intro:....four lines of dotted lines and then Device Intro Failed. While all this is happening there is "Status 0x52" in "Type" under Flash Chip Properties of the MTK Flash 32 tab of JungleFlasher.

all the connections are there. console is in b-mode and being recognized by jungleflasher as it keeps showing up in Drive Properties of the right I/O port.

hell, what is going on?
