Long time ago on xbox 1st gen, I used xbc (could of been the other one...forgot the name) but it is REALLY GOOD for a 3rd party online (free) provider!
Good call for those that are banned!

I hope people start using more. I have excellent connection but live in south america so... Hard to find anyone graphically near me. :p
it seems to block everyone else. Ping filter...
However I´ll start to recruit my friends to use this.

It would be an interesting twist hehe. Imagine Ms going "oh shoot..." noticing that everyone banned abandoned Live and everyone who wasn´t left aniway so they could play with theyre baned friends. For free. With better matchmaking sometimes(ODST).
But we can only daydream

I've done a bit of research on these as well. Here is the problem with both of these systems (XBConnect and Xlink Kai) --> since they fool the 360 into thinking it is a LAN game, you must have 30ms or less to connect to other users. That is a crazy low ping to have. Basically 500 miles or less.
Also, the instructions on how to use these programs really stink.
I've only (tried to) use Xlink Kai, but I couldn't get it to work in the 20 minutes I used it.
People on Xlink Kai were talking trash about the interface of XB Connect, as well.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

From what I read, it's free. What more do you want?!

I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. Free is good, and I will certainly be using one of these two programs myself.
Also, another thing is that headsets are not supported in all games... including Borderlands. You will need to use teamspeak on the PC or something like that if you want voice chat with many games.

OH YEA! I remember that too... LOL
All I remember was XBC was the best as far as support but that was back in xbox 1st gen days... I think the server speed is based really on your location, I think the best bet is to look for the most players and support. I wish I can help you guys further...

Let me know if you find a decent guide on how to get set up with it, gameover (or anyone else).
I am still not 100% on how to set it up.
I was guessing that you need to use Internet Connection Sharing and set your 360 to get an automatic IP from your PC. I put my PC on the router's DMZ. I assume you also need to forward port 30000, used by Xlink Kai. However, I couldn't get it going.

qwert99, I could never get Xlink Kai working either, when I tried setting it up. But I have used XBC before, and didn't really have any problems with it. Basically you would connect through system link, so that was pretty nice, when I had my original xbox modded.
But if more people start to use this, I think it would be way sweet!

Oh, hell yeah, man. I really want to get some 4-player Borderlands action going on.
The biggest downside is the 30ms ping limit, as I see it.

I have to agree! I dont have my system banned (unflashable liteon...) but I am not a fool to think "it will never happen to me". If that day comes (sometime next year) then I will run to XBC...Hopefully it will have A LOT of support. Problem solved :)

Damn XBC is old school!!! Its funny you mentioned it though because I was thinking about that program the other day. I used it too in my 1st Gen Xbox days but once the 360 came out, I rarely used it. With todays technology, I'm sure someone can come up with something more user friendly to utilize

What is an unflashed lite-on? OMG...
Anyone willing to test this tonight? We'll be testing out MW2 on it to see if that will work.
