Ok so I have read tons and tons of tutorials and threads from people flashing their toshiba-sammy m28 which is what I have. I was always led to believe that Xtreme 5.3 was the most recent firmware for my drive and I eneded up putting 5.2 on since 5.3 wouldnt load in xtreme bootmaker. Anyways I am now hearing about ixtreme 1.6 and such. I am wondering what the difference is? Also, does xtreme 5.2 play wave 3 games? Thanks guys!

xtreme firmwares are old firmwares that you can't play on live with, the new ixtremes however allow you to play on live with stealth patched games. 1.61 is the latest ixtreme firmware.

That is basically what I needed to know. I would like to know though if I can still play games like fight night 4 and expect it to work. I would disconnect from xbl so no need for that.

You would be able to play all current games. Unplugging from live will not stop you getting banned, TBH if you have been using xtreme 5.2 then your prolly flagged for a ban anyway.

Ok so I tested fight night 4 with xtreme 5.2 and it works great! I had a problem running it the first time. It said Play game, but I guess I clicked on it too fast that it didnt have a chance to figure out what the game was and my xbox ended up freezing with a black screen. Upon rebooting the xbox it was able to play the game just fine. I even installed it to my HD so I dont burn up my dvd drive quick. Now my final question is, since I have an old firmware that apparently can be detected by m$, if I leave it off xbox live and never go back until I upgrade to ixtreme, will I still get banned? I cant see how since I would be offline until the updated firmware is installed, but who knows...
