Can I transfer Gamerpoints, Saves etc from one profile to another

I have just signed up to live and due to its cack handed way of setting my account up I have ended up having to create a new profile with no saves on it. This means that I cant play most online modes, maps, difficulties etc even though on my proper 3 year old offline account I have unlocked these modes. How can I transfer this? Im not too bothered about achievements and gamerpoints, just want to be able to play the game modes I have already earned.

That is shat. Live has so many problems. So angry at the setup, why didnt it ask me if I wanted to use my current account!!!! To join this forum I entered an email address and a username, simple. How can xbox live, something that you have to pay not be able to implement the same SIMPLE system? Think Ill finally go get a PS3 and draw a line under this whole sorry MS affair.

well you have the choice of using or original profile on live. but if that name is already taken, then obviously you cant. that is why you should make up a unique name to begin with. not just john, or steve when you first get your console.

No I am using original names on both profiles. It was because of the new convoluted dashboard which offers the wrong option for signing up to live. I signed up to live by clicking the option JOIN LIVE on the dashboard. Would seem like the sensible thing to do if you want to join live after all. But looking at it, what I really should have done is 'be psychic'. And by this I mean I should have somehow known to select my current profile, sign in to it and then press the xbox middle controller button, then click sign up to live. Of course this wasnt ever presented as an option by xbox, but had I been psychic then I would have known better. Its just a shame that xbox mistrust their customers so much that they put a stop on any transfering between profiles.

well they have a reason to mistrust people when there were stupid people with 2 million gamer scores, that would beat 13 games in a single day. how long of a 'term' did you sign up for? also, if you monthly payments, just remove that credit card from the account, and it will lapse at the end of the month, then just use your first account and sign up then.

To be honest though, people that waste their lives dishonestly totting up gamerscores aren't really achieving anything. More fool them if they are that consumed by their egos. I was reading once in GamesTM (UK mag) a correspondent had bought a game for the sole reason of accruing easy gamerpoints. He didn't get any enjoyment out of the game. Sad. MS really shouldn't be worrying about these lifeless husks, but focusing on the poor kid that gets a live account for christmas only to discover he has lost all of his hard work because of a thoughtless misleading dashboard.
But yes I plan on doing what you say about letting my new account run out. Im on the free trial and would have continued through to a subscription if I could have played Gears 2 on the levels I have already unlocked. As it happens Im not allowed to play any other stage than the first chapter (which nobody wants to play) so Im stuck not being able to play the damn game!
I have heard of free trial codes on the internet, do these work as I will try to get a free trial on my original profile (the recent ban wave is making me hesitant to stump up for 12 months).

You can do it, its just a lot of working.
you need a con resigner and take your saves and resign from offline profile to your new one.
for saves you just want to use, itll work, but you may have problems with achievements unlocking out of order. all diff depending on the game.
I did that for my job. they wanted sf4 with all chars unlocked.
I made anew offline account, copied my sf4 data to it, and memcard xfered it to their hdd.

Thanks but Im confused. I've looked up con resigner on google and cant find enough information. I dont even know if it is physical device/ firmware/ torrent download and also have no clue as to how to operate whatever the CON register. Do you know of any good websites that give step-by-step details? All I keep getting is frustratingly brief descriptions of CON, PIRS etc and they all seem to be dealing with much more complex problems than mine such as accessing DLC content and transferring that etc.

they should have some info. pirs are the "zips" that have dlc.
a con is the "zip" that has your save info in it.
basically all saves have 3 ids on them, gamertag, save media(hdd or memcard), and console.
console doesnt matter so ignore that.
oh yea youll need a method to connect to your pc. either make a memcard to usb wire or open the hdd itself and sata hookup to your pc, then need a program xplorer360 to get your con files
you would use a con resigner, I like CONcept, google it, to see what your offline tag id is and media. since your most likely using the same hdd or so so, thatll stay the same.
make a new save then xfer it to pc so you can see your online profiles id, then use CONcept to resign all the offline with your onlines id.
takes a while to get the hang of it but eventually you can start hex editing.
why settle for 42 backpack spots in Borderlands when you can have 65,535.

also, dont be surprised if you get banned for editing your saves.....and your gamerscore reset to 0, and your gamertag getting changed to mcCheater.... might want to google that as well as everything else you've been told to google.

Thanks to TheGlow for all the info, Ill have a look but a)you say it takes a while to get used to (Im only on a months trial so may run out of time to get used to it) and b)Ill have to look into a SATA link to my PC.
Wabashman's warning of getting banned also puts me off attempting this transfer. I think it would be easier finding level skip cheats or invincibility etc and just run through each game quickly so I have all the maps and modes etc. Either way Im pointlessly having to find a way round something that MS shouldnt be prohibiting. I still dont understand why games have anything locked. A DVD wouldnt make you watch the feature before you can access the extras, I hate this belief of developers that you must play their way. All games should just be open from the off.
