The techical details behind this unban DVD are not to be revealed in it's exact formula, but I can shed some light on the general details behind it.
There is code present on this DVD even though it appears to be a Video DVD on your Xbox 360. This code will alter certain parts of NAND data of the Xbox 360, it randomizes the console specific data, data unique to each Xbox 360 (like MAC address, Serial Number and Console_ID), and will still look unique. Since the code randomizes the data, there's a chance it will randomize the data to another banned console_id. Again we will not reveal the technical details behind this process, due to the the 8xxx kernel being very vulnerable (we are hoping to release an exploit soon for full system compromise of any Xbox 360 and any dashboard kernel version. Expect a major breakthrough soon for homebrew, we are leaving Microsoft in the dark this time (unlike other hackers that have found exploits for the Xbox 360. In the past they have given away the technical details behind every exploit so far))
III. Instructions How To Use
---------
- Make sure your Xbox 360 has the 8xxx kernel (any will do).
- Burn the .ISO to a single layer DVD (make sure the booktype is DVD-ROM)
- Play the DVD in your Xbox 360, and it will start the video and code to unban your Xbox
- If it doesn't work for you the first time the Unban DVD might have randomized the console specific data to another banned consoles data... Once you get to replace the console_ID with an unbanned unit, you're 100% able to go on Xboxlive again.

Writing this Unban DVD would not have been possible without the work done by many hackers like arnezami, Redline99, Robinsod, SeventhSon, Tiros, tmbinc, xorloser, and anyone else I might have missed.

How do I update my Xbox 360 to a 8xxx kernel?
You can update the Xbox 360 using an USB flash drive (put the SystemUpdate folder on the USB drive, download from xbox.com)
It doesn't work to unban, help me?
Run the DVD again, and again and again, make sure the booktype is set to DVD-ROM when you burn it.

We do not have more details atm.
As far as we know the 3 'test boxes' C4Eva has running are still fine (not banned).
So there's NO ETA for the firmware yet (dont ask) but it should come out for Lite-On drives first.

so the Lite-On drives will only get that update or will later on the other drivers will have it. So would that make it Ixtreme 1.7??

honestly im not your most tech savy guy, but most you people seem worse off than me. First things first when u run any ixtreme prior to 1.6 ur running the risk of getting banned because any newer games u play wont be stealth checked (yes it will still run them). If u run the activate.iso (ix1.6+) your disabling the stealth check, so if anything is wrong with your game, your banned. The firmware is not what is getting you banned, your getting yourselves banned. The only problem with ix1.61 is that it isnt idiot proof. Ive been running flashed drive on live for years now no bans... not a coincidence. Get abgx 1.0.2, get ix1.61, check all your games, dont run activate.iso and you should be fine.

i was just wondering:
lets say i am getting a new xbox today.i plan on flashing with 1.6(lite-on).would it be safer if i went out and rented all the new games and did all the updfates required for these games, then flashed the drive. Would that be a less of a chance for banning? or is it mostly firmware issue? i know nobody really knows why peeps are getting banned(except for playing early releases online and just dumb little kid sh*t like that.)

Honestly, I would highly recommend against any flashing right now at all, unless your console is already modded. Wait it out for a while, let the dust settle, and see where we are as a community in another month or so.

i think its the firmware unless they collect it from the hard drive and do it all at once.. i rent my dont download my backups i make actual ones from the disc, and have done it for a couple friends they ALL said they got banned, but i was playing less then a week ago and even longer b4 that halo 3 the actual disc no backup
heard they got banned look here turned on my console(original halo 3 disc in it) and wholla i am banned as well .. its either something immediate with the firmware or something thye collect over a period of time with the games stealth , but i am trying the dvd unban as soon as it downloads.. maybee acheivements? i dunno , but they get it from somewhere...
