14 January 2009 - EXCLUSIVE NEWS AND CONFIRMED: ixtreme LT is not free!
The retail price will be 110 USD. The key has some kind of encryption, so that it can not be used for free. More details will be placed when they are available.

WOW!!! What are your thoughts?
. If this turns out to be true the only way I fill consider it is if there is some kind of garantee about getting banned. They can't expect people to pay if there is still a chance Microsoft will be able to detect it. And how are c4eva and co supposed to know what tricks Microsoft have up there sleave?
This isn't true. They aren't charging $110 USD.

As for the firmware, you ALWAYS run a risk of getting banned. I think a lot of people got too comfortable with the old iXtreme. Every body thought it was undetectable and then BAM, M$ comes along with a huge ban wave.

You should always have the frame of mind, with whatever I modify on my 360, there is a chance I am going to get banned from XBL.

Definitely the attitude i have with modding my xbox, was banned in most recent wave, bit bummed but i just went in thinking, 'when' rather than 'if.'However with a new unbanned xbox ready to mod I wouldn't consider paying for the privilege of having my xbox banned. rather just keep one for offline and one for online

I really hope they never charge for LT. Even though it has value, I would never pay for it. I mean isn't it a little more than slightly ironic to charge for a product that helps you avoid paying for something? Pirates will always be pirates, and someone will release it for free and the 95%+ of people not willing to pay will swarm.

Not to mention, there's definitely no guarantee that it will be undetectable more than a few months, and in fact, history shows that sooner or later it will be detected, making your $110 investment less valuable than a doorstop.

If they release a nice product for free that works well, I'll be the first in line to donate $10-$20 for their time.

There is always a risk of getting banned. There is always a risk of getting rrod or e74. You try and estimate the probability of being banned and the most likely time you will be banned and put a price on that calculated risk. You then look at the price of a new 360 and add them to the price of the risk. You take this price from the estimated gain and if positive, it should be decided to take the modded console online. LT should lower the risk and thus making going online more attractive.

Right, so instead you expect people to waste their time and effort on something you you can't do. You expect not to pay for something you use to avoid having to pay for games, yet you acknowledge that you won't pay for it even if it is made in a way that will prevent you from getting banned.

Personally, I have donated money to many free software projects that I find extremely useful. Among them, Trillian and Ubuntu. I've also donated my time as a software developer to several projects, which is arguably more valuable; including Azureus, eMule, and a couple of WoW Emu's.

So, yes, I'll donate, if they can release a product for free which has reasonable chances of avoiding bans for at least several months.

taken from Xbox Scene: Maybe you should start giving a few posts of appreciation - then maybe you will see Benq, Samsung & Hitachi versions too - because they won't come from anyone else we can assure you of that much.

Yeah, I read that. Thats written by Xbox Scene and not TJ / C4EVA, so fingers crossed. I reckon they will do Lite-on, BanQ & Samsungs and not bother with the hitachi's like they have done with a few other releases. Im guessing its due to there being so may different hitachi revisions.

I nearly just started crying and then the tears turned to laughter :)

I had a light on console just sitting there on the side for two months waiting for this and can you believe the console wouldn't turn on lol

I left it open and a little piece come of the board so ima soldering it back on now but it dont look hopeful.

I have downloaded the files above and they seem authentic to me but now i have no lite on drive :(

WHAT A BITCH!!

Hey good news people, my console is back from the dead!

Lite Touch has been flashed to the drive successfully with the new BETA version of jungle flasher and the console is NOT BANNED(thank god).

I however cannot guarantee this console has not been flagged so the only way to test this new firmware is for people to flash a new console and rinse out online and see what happens :)

Good Luck guys, im off to list this sucker on Fleabay lol

I'll be flashing my liteon 7xxxx with LT either this weekend or next. I'll only play games with ssv2 and SplitVid with 100% ABGX verification. The console is still in warranty and has never been flashed and has been online nearly a year( not that that really matters) and has latest updates. I'll be playing cod mw 2 and l4d 2 backups online a lot so they will put LT to the test. I still think bannings will happen before Halo Reach is out so I'm going to stay offline a month beforehand but I'll monitor my console closely and let you all know what happens.

I agree with you that Halo Reach will be LT's big test but i think that M$ will flag consoles well in advance of its release date so i don't know if going online a month before will prevent you from being flagged.

So, your post was a little vague. Does that mean that you've been playing online without any problems? If so, how long ago did you flash your 360 with the new firmware?

I flashed it last Saturday (January 23rd) and have been online since with no problems. I'm making sure to verify the games I use (old and new) with abgx, and am not playing pre-releases anymore.

Also, I used my harddrive from my previously banned xbox, and recovered my gamertag on the new one. I only lost one game's gamesave due to that being the only one I played after being banned. It was corrupt.

Hope this helps.
