So when microsoft bans you, it bans the console and the console has a certain number or ID right? So when you go to make another gamertag it just will say error. Well what if i switched motherboards and just put my dvd drive and hard drive in this other xbox. Would this work?

and then you have to reflash the dvd drive to match the new console. so in essence you would be buying a new console, so why not just do that anyways???

You would need to reflash your dvd drive with the drive key that matched the new motherboard. Your dvd drive is specifically coded to only work with that specific motherboard.

That information is a simple search away, but most likely you would need the old drive to pull the key from, and if you have that, why not just use it?

Well, you'd need to pull the key from it, meaning it depends how messed up it is (or if you kept a copy of the key).
Then you'll have to spoof that drive key onto your other drive.

Try searching for "spoofing a drive" mate.
