Make sure you have the I/O port you were using before selected and click Intro/Device ID. If that doesn't work, resend the Lite-On erase command to get proper flash chip properties. Then write the firmware.

Did you happen to plug the power plug in upside down?

You don't know humiliation until you fry somebody's DVD drive in front of their very eyes...
Now I use a sharpie to mark the up-side of the power connector on any 360 I work on. Helps me to have a visual reminder.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

Yeah... it happens to the best of us. The kid wasn't around when it happened to me... I didn't get the key first though. :S

Yeah me too, I started to use an orange colored Sharpie just recently... because even with Black I mess things up... eh... my poor eyes. =)

Ouch! It only happened once to me as well, but at least I had the key. Still sucked, though.

Hey, and here I thought I was the only one. I use a red Sharpie. I have never seen such a poorly designed power connector as the 360's!

Maybe I'll mark mine too. I haven't had a problem yet, though. I check it about 38.4 times before I plug it in. Paranoid.
