I (my kids) have lost/broke both of my BlueTooth Head Sets. The PS3 Eye is $30 and the PS3 Blue Tooth Head Set is $50.
I have heard that the Eye can be used as a Game Mic as it has multiple microphones in it. Have any of you had any experience with the Eye as a Game Mic?
I'm curious as I'm sure I'll be getting that Pet game for my youngest daughter. Might save some money.

Your friend in nam is not lying. She has a modded PS2, and the modder was generous enough to relabel the PS2 to PS3.
Then the pirate selling games relabeled Assassins Creed 1 and called it Assassins Creed 2. This is called marketing.
Your friend is honest and thinks she plays AC2 on a PS3. In reality she is playing AC1 on a PS2.

i wouldnt use it if it picks up everything in the room, personly if some ones mic keeps broadcasting the game sounds (that annoying echo) i personly mute them how ever if you have only two speakers and if the ps3 eyetoy has directional mics you may be ok

Onkyo surround sound. Camera would sit in front of HDTV which has the volume Muted.

the echo happens if its right next to your tv speakers, so it shouldnt be a problem

. Not true for me , I had the eye behind my head (middle of the room) the speakers are behind the screen and on the corners at the front and behind the projecter on the side walls behind. No where near the eye but I got echo, I suggest just trying it there useful for some games and make suberbpc web cams

I have a new logitech headset on the way after trying my friends one. It is USB (never have to charge), has a over-the-head band, fluffy padding, and great audio quality. Best of all? Only $30! I don't even mind the price of the PS3 headset...but it is one of the most uncomfortable bluetooth units I have ever tried...and that is saying a lot after I tried the jawbone 2.
