Thx

No there is no work around for this, once you sign into LIVE and are banned you can't install / run games off the HDD. Please use the search function next time as this has been answered 1000 times.

Is there no way to get into the system firmware to change it? All it probably involves changing a 1 to 0 or vice versa. Nobody has found a way to re-enable it?

Yea I wanna try xbconnect or something similar, but don't dare connect my box to the Internet cuz I'm afraid of losing this function. So thought I'd ask.
Thx

If you have a backup of your NAND from when you COULD connect to live, you can copy it over and restore the install to HDD function but you'll still be banned from Live.

What is NAND? And would anyone have a backup they could provide? I don't care about being banned but getting the HDD function back would be nice.
Maybe someone who's console still functions could provide this?

I think you would need an infectus chip to do that. I think that's what it was called.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work, I think it would need to be a copy of the NAND in your 360. and Azazecks is correct you would need an Infectus.
