I have a hitachi with ixtreme 1.51. This xbox got banned with a million others yesterday.
I have just purchased a xbox on ebay without any accessories and without a harddrive.
Can I use my harddrive from the banned xbox and put this on the new xbox to play original xbox games online without any problems?

Yes. If you have problems, reformat the HDD.

sounds good, but the only problems I would think that I would have is getting the new xbox banned....and formatting the harddrive after that wont do any good.

I got follow up questions.
can I do anything else to get back online?
Can I flash my xbox back to original and have it be unbanned?
Also, I have another xbox that is modded (samsung 1.6) and I have not put that online, so it is not banned. Can I flash that xbox back to original firmware and get online without getting that xbox banned?

I recovered my gamer tag by deleting the profile only using the banned box and then installing the HDD onto the new box, recovering (for some reason it wouldn't let me put it on my HDD yet)the gamertag and then I saw that the profile was still on the HDD after i transferred it to the new box. I deleted it and then i was able to get it off the Arcade HDD and back on to mine. It appears i still have the game saves and what not but all i cared about was my COD series ranks. My point is that i didnt have to reformat. i just had to delete the profile only. I would suggest getting a mem card incase you have stuff you want to save.

do a search for unbanning a 360. I think you can clone a different searial/mac from another console but whats the point if you have to have another just to make your other one work.

No. once it is hit it doesnt matter what you do to it.

Why not just go buy one and return it before the 30 day warranty that the store offers. Then you can play online, you just have to buy the game you wanna play. I only play COD series online so im not out much, I knew the risk.
