I recently flashed my drive successfully in a brand new XBOX 360, when I put the drive back in it wouldn't run discs, since that I have taken it back out. Now when I connect it to my PC it is undetectable in DOS jungle flasher and iprep, I have got all my info saved and the laser seems to come on form time to time, obviously it seems to be erased can any one help me please.

Well, if the drive isn't working, I think it is safe to say that the flash was not successful.

If you can't get 0x72, give the Lite-On erase command. It will erase the drive and return with a 0x72.

Sometimes Jungle Flasher isn't so great at working with difficult Lite-On drives. If JF is giving you trouble, do a search for DosFlash32 on Google. I believe Xbins has it. DosFlash32 does a much better job of it.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

There is DosFlash(16), and then there is DosFlash 32. DosFlash 32 is a Windows program. Use that program to erase the drive and then re-write the firmware.

However, if the flash was good originally, as it does seem to be, then you weren't clear about what the problem was and you shouldn't need to reflash at all.

What does "wouldn't run discs" mean? Was it all discs, or just backups? What error did it give you?

I would try and reflash again. Is the drive still in vendor mode?

Loading target file C:\Users\Ste\Desktop\ix16-liteon838.bin

Yes, the firmware does not appear to match the drive type.

Also, it seems like the drive key doesn't match in the source file and the target file.

Here is what you need to do:

Make sure you have the firmware for the 7x Lite-On. If not, get it at Xbins.

Use Jungle Flasher to create a ixreme 1.6 7x lite_cfw.bin file with the correct drive key and save it in a safe place.

Use DosFlash32 to do an erase. This will put the drive into 0x72 mode as well.

Now use DosFlash32 (available at Xbins) OR Jungle Flasher, whichever you want, to flash that correct 7x lite_cfw.bin (modified firmware file with proper key) to the drive.

Now put it back together and play. :)

Same exact prob...I think i put the wrong fw on the drive & now It will not detect in dos jf or windows. Tried l-o-eras for over an hour and kept getting ff80. I modded another same model liteon in l-o-eras & everything went fine status ff72. I am at my wits end..so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
