Hitachi drive and was already flashed when i bought it, not sure what firmware is on it?
also my computer is old and dont have a PCI slot, will USB to SATA work
or ide/sata card?
any ideas would be great read for 8 hours today

I used a USB to SATA bridge adapter (As mentioned in the Jungle Flasher PDF Tutorial) to flash my Hitachi (V79) drive. I think I bought one for $5 shipped on eBay, took almost two weeks as it came from China.

i was looking at a usb to sata from hong kong.
does it matter that my drive was already flashed, i dont have the orginal bin... or the key
not sure what version my Hitachi drive is either, have to wait till i open it up...

You NEED the original key in order to install the new drive to the console. What are you trying to do exactly?

i picked up a xbox 360 that was flashed, i just assumed it was the latest version, but i am not sure , i now think it a older version since all the burnt games that came with are from 07 cod4 for example
so now i am just wondering if i can upgraded it to new firmware?

Oh, ok. Yeah, you should be able to accomplish everything you need to do with that USB to SATA adapter. Can you post a link as to which one you are trying to buy.

I have the PCI card and the USB to SATA adapter. The PCI card did come with drivers and a cable, but I didn't install the drivers for the card.

my xbox was banned so i only play offline so i been doing hours of reading and just figured out i can patch the file to play on old firmware?
i just wish i knew what firmware i had...
