Just finished a burn and the green bar is all the way across and says complete but the drive is still running (green light) and it has an error "waiting for device to become ready"???

That is the error you get when you have an already-burned disc in your drive and you are trying to burn a new ISO on top of it.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

You say in your first post that you just completed a burn. Therefore the disc is burned... no?

Edit -- you don't have to be trying to burn a new ISO for that to happen. That is just what ImgBurn reports when you have a non-blank disc in the drive.

Just kill the ImgBurn process and check the disc with ABGX. It should be fine.

No, The green progress bar went all the way across and says complete but in the log at the bottom it gave that error and nothing happened (disk should have ejected). When i right click properties its showing the disk as still blank? Maybe i set something wrong in image burn before i started?

I think ImgBurn is just waiting for the burner to give the 'all clear' and that hasn't happened. You may want to check to make sure that you have the latest firmware for your drive.

You should be able to kill the ImgBurn process and have the disc be fine.

Pc locked up. Had to re-boot. Put the disk in a different computer and got the 360 "put in 360" video and it had 3 folders: system update, and the audio and video folders. So it should be golden. :-) My first one! Now just waiting for my replacement drive laser to test it out. Thanks Quert, you are AWESOME! :-)
