Earlier this week we reported that 1 million Xbox Live members had been banned from the service for using modified consoles, a significant portion of the 20 million XBL subscribers.
This weekend, 360mods is reporting that a possible workaround is in the works, that will help permanently banned users to access XBL again without having to buy a new console.

Why do you think the way they detect has remained a secret? .. because it's so funny watching all the headless chickens running around shooting in the dark and making BS claims about "stealth patches" .. as people have just found out.. those mean nothing at all.
Workaround for live account ban.. errrmmm.. I smell that same old smell here.. once M$ ban a live account for abuse it stays banned... the account has nothing to do with the console,
You're a moron. The cpu-key method allows you to flash the NAND with one from another console, effectively giving your console a new identity. You're using the same console, but it's ID doesn't say that.
And stealth patches DO work. M$ detected the iXtreme behavior, not the stealthed ISOs.
@ZippyDSM:
The save corruption is carried at the profile level. So if you deleted the corrupted profile and transfer a non-corrupted one over, you're ok. I copied my saves from a 20gb to my new 120gb and they work just fine after removing my banned profile. This obviously has to be done on a non-banned console, though se7ensins posted a method allowing you to gain gamerscore points on a banned console.
I be a Xbox 360 noob so correct add in anything you want ^^
So basically the info is ok but using your profile on a a banned system= corruption, you need to redo the profile on a new unit to clean things up, right? (yes I know you just said that my zippy has to ask in a zippy way :P)
Yes. Somehow, the banned console tells the profile to corrupt your saves. Whether this corruption is permanent I don't know. All you have to do is either delete the profile and recover it on an unbanned console (haven't done that so no guarantees), or like I did: transfer saves to PC, delete bad profile and transfer to new HDD.

Were gonna have newbs in there thousands asking how to perform the JTAG hack. GOOD LUCK is all i can say ha! Maybe its time for a lil AD vacation :)
Hey Anus!.................Can you do this? Can you do this with ease, without any assistance or mistakes? Can you do this on your first try.
Maybe I should re-phrase those questions......If you can, then were you able to your first time around? NO
So pipe down about "newbs" and be ready to show the kindness that someone probably showed you.

Listen up lissenup.Ha. If that is your real name.
No i cant do this.
And all i was saying is that hundreds of ok "inexperienced users" will be asking how to do something wayyy out of they're league.
So pipe down and lose the aggresion. Gonna get nowhere with an attitude like that.

http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EkVlEyulykdwQBVSqd.php
is u updated to the latest kernal, which u would have to, to play online. then u can't perform the JTAG hack, Or even the outdated "king kong" hack

You may not be able to perform the JTAG hack but as long as you got the cpu key pre-89** update you should still be able to read and flash the nand.

More than anything I hope someone figures out a way to restore hard drive functionality to already banned consoles. The new GTA just can't run without an install it looks like crap. I miss this feature more than live.
I went and got another console only because I want to install to the hard drive. Its amazing how much I miss that. The 360 is so much quieter and way smoother when the game is installed on the drive. I could care less about live. I like updates and addons but the hard drive is my main issue.
Can anybody tell me if I put my hard drive from the banned 360 on to a 360 that is not modded, can I still use the gamer tag and saves from the banned box? Or will I just get banned on the new 360 as well.
As far as I know(and what everyone tells me) they ban consoles not accounts or harddrives or data.
Yes, you can do that. One of my Xboxs got banned the other day and i just moved the hard drive into the other one and i was back up and gaming again.
That's funny because I just tried it and all my saves and my game profile are corrupted and can't be used. I don't know or care about achievements but the saves and Profile are corrupted.
Go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/...st_read-814370/ for getting ur game saves to work they are not corrupted on ur profile is corrupted every time you switch ur hdd to ur banned xbox and you must recover ur gamertag once u reconnect it to ur unbanned xbox

lmfao .. still people aren't getting why this is rather pointless.. so you flash the nand from an unbanned console onto a banned one, effectively cloning it. What do you then do with the unbanned one? You can't use it on live because it's a clone, and believe.. that will get it banned straight off.
run the reflashed one modded?.. great.. get banned again a few weeks down the line.. why bother?
There is a real simple way to avoid getting banned.. it's been said over and over again.. don't use a modded box on live.. how many live games you lot play anyway.. 3 or 4? .. bet they can be bought used.

If i was you i'd stop right there, you obviously don't know what you are talking about or don't have the foggiest in what some are trying to say here.I'm not technically up with the unbanning of boxes(by that i mean working on one to have it unnbanned) but i am up on the issue and a work around has in fact been found, you can either accept that or reject it but if you are going to reject it do it in a manner that doesn't involve your usual childish carry on like in your last topic postings last week, haven't you learnt yet ?

prick.. I know way more than you.. especially about M$ and consoles.. (for all you retards know I may work for them.. has that ever entered your tiny 3 cell brains?) I'm not disputing a workaround has been found.. I'm questioning the actual point of it... Cloning a console is a fine method.. but does it also clone the ethernet connector mac number, which may be logged in a database somewhere as well.. or does it just clone the nand data from the cpu? .. guess I'm 2 steps ahead of you again. This isn't about avoiding the ban by cloning an unmodded console number, it's a report of another hardware vulnerability found (eventually) which may have another use given time.. tho I doubt it's really anything worth shouting about. It doesn't actually allow anything worthwhile.. it's not an exploit.. I guess i should just carry on trying to crack the hypervisor like a few people have been at for more than 3 years now and getting pretty much nowhere.
anyway.. who made you a moderator asshat?.. oh look.. you ain't
what a f-in retard. shouting people down who post interesting points and questions which challenge the actual BS spouted in lots of places really achieves a lot doesn't it? .. doesn't make me look like an idiot, but it DOES make you retards look just like you are.. retards who don't have enough brains to think around a problem.. oh yeah.. now I remember the script... that's why you post on afterdawn instead of the real black hat crackers sites where people like me come along and eat you for breakfast. *sigh* .. no wonder all the clever people left it to the n00bs.. better sites out there.. move along.. nothing left to see here....

First off, I'm not blaming you for piracy.
When people say "Backing up games for legal reasons in case you get scratches on it", 90% of the time they are pirating them. They just say "Backing up" to be safe. Realistically, why would you go through the hassle of modding the Xbox and backing up your games and taking the risk of playing backed up games on Xbox live? That's a bigger risk than the risk you have of scratching the discs Just buy a disc scratch remover. I have bought one and it works well enough to get you to run the disc again. If that still doesn't work then you need to take better care of your discs. Don't throw the "My sibling ruined it" excuse because why would you keep your games in the reach of them? If you think about it, a disc scratch remover is cheaper than buying the packs of DVD-DL discs and spending the hour about to mod the system.Remember though, the ban wave banned people's consoles for playing early copies, of Modern Warfare 2. Earlier than the game was leaked. There is no way these copies were "backups"
By the way, when you say you're going PS3, PS3 doesn't even support disc backups so in a way you're contradicting yourself.

people are actually backing up their originals for this reason, siblings,i have experienced this first hand,no matter where i hide them or how high up away i put them my young bloke always manages to get them down when i'm not around,i come home to find that he's gone and found them and put them into the console with no regard to the disc,Ok yes it's a fair enough statement that my kid should be taught not to touch such things but come on...kids will be kids so thats not really an exscuse, the way i look at piracy is when people copy games for re-sale,many people call them bootlegs i believe in the states,i'm not saying it doesn't happen, sure there are a lot of "pirates" out there they as you and me copy games for a challenge, now i'm pretty confident in saying there is a lot of us out there that actually do buy off pirates if we can't copy the game ourselves to save some $$ especially if you don't have it at the time.now where i am from we are and it states it on thelast page of the game instruction manual with all the licence terms and agreements and propriatry ownership that we may make 1 (one) only back up copy of the software for private use.I can see where you are coming from but we all aren't "pirates" theres a mixture some that do it for the thrill, some that do legitmatly back up for fear of there young ones scratching the originals.
as for disc scratch remover where i am it is cheaper to buy a pack of dual layered discs.
Agreed playing an ealy released game off the net is asking for trouble but in reality the so called "pirates" don't play these games til it is actually released,it's the silly buggers that buy them off them that get themsleves banned.i have a legit copy of modern warfare 2 as soon as i got it i backed it up and made sure the original was hidden securely, but i dare say the young fella and his adventureous misdemenor will eventually find it to put in his 360.
Yes piracy is illegal,No copying a game here is not illegal(where i am from),Personally i think you can blame your local EB/Gamestop store and video outlets for game copying purely for money saving on a gamers part, yes i am guilty of saving a few $ on some games that i like but they weren't major titles and i don't re-sell it's purely for my use only, i buy the original major titles.

The problem as I see it shearing/downloading is irrelevant people still consume and frankly if the majority didn't consume then perhaps its time the media system was reinvent for modern man. But "consuming" and "money" as we see it today will be around for a few more hundred years so there is no reason why shearing/downloading should be a crime on any level. Now those that sell IP/CP make that the crime hell even make donations and ad rev a crime.
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

Now those that sell IP/CP make that the crime hell even make donations and ad rev a crime.
sorry mate i don't understand what you are trying to say.

Speaking speak in full effect get out the bandages and aspirin head are exploeden!!!
LOL
TO put it as simply as I can copy right is about profit even if they tried to monopolized distribution first sale doctrine, fair use and other things under mind everything they do to protect distribution. So instead of focusing on distribution alone they should focus on profit because no one would be able to make money off it if the system in place goes after those that make money off illicitly selling CP/IP.
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

NICE, but not really a solution, as the banned box uses a unbanned Keyvault info. Its like updating an eeprom on the original xbox with an unbanned one.It stops the bleeding, but doesnt put the arm back on your body.It only delays enevitable.
Yes, its more complex than the original xbox(cant just mod and run configmagic), but its similar in technology.
AGAIN, like king kong shader exploit, it only works if you DONT have the latest updates.WHO has been playing on LIVE without the latest updates?
USELESS otherwise.
AND YES, SOME of us know quite a bit about xbox internals. We do our homework before posting.

Please, stop perpetuating this nonsense in so many threads. How many times does a person have to post "FAKE" after you comment. All it does is fill up the search feature with useless references.
