Hi,
I'm having a real hard time trying to back-up my DVDs. Thanks to the advice & guides on this site I thought I had it nailed, but now, having at last successfully burned a movie when I go to play the disk back on my PC and DVD players it's blank - HELP.
Initially I was using DVD ClonerII, the burned movie played back on my PC but not on the DVD players (error message said 'not supported').
I switched to using DVD Shrink with DVD Decrypter. The process worked fine and finalised the disk when completed. But when I went to play the film there was nothing on it.
My DVD burner is Asus 4x DVD DUAL R/RW IDE Burner
I'm using Datasafe 4x DVD-Rs
My DVD players are a Panasonic DMRE50 & a Toshiba SD210, both multi-r & normally play anything.

Please can someone offer some help?

once the dvd has been decrypted and shrunk, i would use Nero to burn it. if u don't ave Nero u can get a trial version from http://nero.com/en/download_de.php?pak=1

are you sure it is blank? Can you play it on your computer. Burning programs can affect compatibility and decrypter is not a particularly good burning program. The best are probably Nero and recordnow max.

Thanks guys,
Yep, the disks were definately blank and won't play on anything.
I did start off using DVD ClonerII, that disk wouldn't play on either of my DVD players - any ideas what could cause that. Or should I just scrap Cloner & get a copy of Nero (from what I've read on here Cloner's not all that anyway).

My players do support DVD r's, something else must be up. I think I'll give Nero a go.
Thanks for the help

Thanks guys,
Downloaded Nero and 'BAM' totally hassle free backup. DVD Shrink to Nero to DVD-r in less than 1 hour.

DVD Cloner was a total waste of blood, sweat, tears and money!
