I don't care about playing online and I could live without the HDD, but I was wondering if there is a way to install title updates and roster updates for sports games manually, without logging into Live. If so, could anybody tell me how to do that? I did a forum search and wasn't able to find any information.
I'd very much like to be able to install title and roster updates again, since sports games take up nearly all of my play time.
I'm pretty sure you can by doing this method, but you need access to a couple of things for it to work. First you need access to a xbox 360 with an updated roster and a memory card. First, from your dashboard you need to go to System>memory>gamer profiles. Select your profile and select ?move? and transfer it to the memory card. Take that memory card and insert it into the Xbox 360 with the updated rosters. Take one controller and make sure that your profile(A) is logged in from the memory card and then take the other controller and load the profile(B) from the hard drive with the updated rosters. Start up the Madden game. With profile(B) go into Madden menu and select load. With the trigger select ?Roster? and select the ?online? roster and load it. Then take the controller for profile(A) and go to ?save?. With the trigger select ?roster? and you should see the online roster with the staus being unchanged. Save it to the memory card. Take the memory card out and insert it back to your Xbox 360. Go back to the dashboard and go to System>memory>gamer profiles and transfer your profile back to your Xbox 360 hard drive. Load up Madden and go into the menu and select load. You need to load up the roster from the memory card. Select the ?Roster? and you should see the ?online? roster. Load it and go back to the menu and select ?Save?. Save it to your hard drive and VIOLA!You have the updated roster without having a gold membership or the internet.

I have not heard an answer to this question, but I have a possible solution.
There are 2 options, as I see it. One would be to connect your HDD to an unbanned 360 and use a legit copy to update your roster files. It may or it may not be necessary to delete your profile but not your save games, and then recover your gamertag from Xbox Live in order to remove corruption.
Another method would be if somebody were to upload the roster files to the internet. The roster files are probably married to each profile/console, so you would have to use a program like Modio to change the IDs to that of your own profile and console.
This method works for transferring save games between profiles, as I learned recently when I deleted my profile and couldn't recover it (due to being banned), and the system wouldn't let me transfer ownership of the saves (my level 31 on Borderlands).
Now, I don't know how roster files are saved, but the above method may work if they are saved in a format similar to save games.
