Hey all,
I finally flashed my drive and it works good.
I now have a problem of burning my iso's.
I have gone through the tutorials here on how to do it and still cant get them to work.
Things I have tried:-
2 diffenet makes of DL media
2 different burners on 2 different machines
3 different iso's
3 different programs - clonedvd, nero, imgburn
Tried many different variations of settings in each of the programs
I burn only at 2x and 2.4x speed
I have a pile of 9 failed disc's, they all do the same thing - put them in the 360 and it tries to read then after a minute it says open tray.
I know the flash was good as a friends 'back-ups' worked on my 360
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
Many thanks

Your 360 drive needs a pot calibration to change the power being sent to the laser. Do a search for it and you'll find guides. Do not do this without using a multimeter.
And you should stop burning at such slow speeds unless the media is rated at 2.4x.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

Is this a standard operation that everyone needs to do after flashing?

Check them with ABGX to make sure. However, pot calibrations are pretty common.

If i dont have a meter, can i just alter it very very slightly and keep trying it? if so, should i not go further than say, quarter of a turn?

Don't do it without a multimeter. A quarter of a turn would be too much. Minute movement can cause a huge jump in resistance.

Thanks for your continued info.
One last thing, I haven't tried Verbatim Discs yet, do you think there is a high posibilty that Verbatim discs would make a BIG difference without the need of doing a calibration?
