Plus Microsoft doesn't want to broadcast it to the masses that the console can be modded. Believe it or most people who buy game console know nothing about modding.

As to whether or not they might go to Playstation, i actually heavily considered getting on instead, but it came down to xbox live and the fact that i have 15 friends who have live and 2 people with psn. I'm sure other people will be on the same position as me.
m$ lose $ per 360 sold as of matter of fact. I know when it was first released it was $150 LOSS per sold but now the spread is smaller but still a loss. They make money from xbox live and several cents PER game (but it adds up per player). I don't have the math in front of me due to simple laziness.

I think they have been weighting the pros and cons of banning for sometime in order to wait this long for banning (since many have been flaged for sometime but weren't banned). I really think they had to think about the possible loss they may accured. Hell, if I knew I flashed and wasnt going to get banned I would be buying a crap load of live stuff for obvious reasons (saving money=used for something else).

(sorry for bad spelling, very tired from a long day and didnt care for spell check)

I was banned and got a new MW2 xbox console a few days later.

Anyone who threatens to go to PS3 is a douche. You are stealing and they caught you. Oh well. Suck it up. If you were only playing Xbox because you could steal, then again, you're a douche. And if that's the case, then go get a blueray player as your game console and have fun, glad I won't be seeing you on Xbox live.

Anyone with the reasoning that if you get caught and punished for stealing your going to have a hissy fit and try to "give it to the man" by not being their customer anymore... well... you are simply retarded.
