I've got a question that I would be grateful if someone could answer for me.
I have a RROD 360, which was my brother's, now he tried to fix it himself using some youtube vids and didn't do too good a job, he damn massacred the case without ever getting it open, and you can visibly see someone has tried to pry it open.
Now the question is, I checked on xbox.com and it has never been registered and still under warranty for RROD, so I'm thinking it's highly improbable but is their a chance MS will send a replacement console?, or will they take one look and ship it straight back?, obviously it's not gonna cost me anything to send it, so I'm thinking, have I got anything to lose?
Yeah they will tell you to send it in to "Check It" but they only want to confirm and then you will get it back a week later saying it wasnt fixed due to being tampered.
You can try if you want to but can take alot of time if at all and alot of calls and not to 18004myxbox as they are little to no help.
i have sent in around 20 or so, most of them i bought from people local to me, all of them red ringed. after i got them i would send them in to be repaired, the ones that microsoft fixed was great, any others i repaired myself after they returned to me. and i did have several that people tried to fix before i got them, those where the ones that had the red arrow stickers.
you should here some of the questions i get as to wht i have so many consoles.
