Hi there, I've been hearing that HDloader wont work on ps2 compatible PS3s stating that it's an incompatible console, but has anybody tried this method?
Format the ps3s HDD alloting either 10GB or everything but 10GB to the other OS, then download PS2 tools from the PS store and try out HDloader.
Has anybody tried this?? Because the PS2 tools is used to allow the ps3 to use some of it's hard drive to the HDD running ps2 games, so if anybody's tried this plz tell me stating wheither it works, I believe it COULD work but i so dont have it yet and dont wanna if it wont work.

It wont work, if the PS3 isnt backwards compatiable, it wont be able to play PS2 games.

The eway you have asked it, looks like you are asking about non BC PS3's.
With BC PS3's this method wont work either, the PS3's partition cant read of Linux and vice versa, at the moment, there is no way of using the PS3's internal storage, to store PS2 games.

From within the PS3 os/XMB, you cant read anything of the other OS.

I just told you it wont bloody work, your the one thast dosnt seem to be getting it, you start talking about othere os, then say that you will be using the HDloader disc.
It wont work, simple as that, Swap Magic and a EXTERNAL device is the only way to get PS2 ISO's running on your PS3, simple as that :/

thats when u allot a partition to the ps3's hard drive, this needs to be done not just for Linux, but also for ps2 games that would use a HDD when played on a ps3.

As i have clearly stated the XMB cant read of the other OS, so what use would it be to stick PS2 games on the other OS, the other OS is used for Linux and SAK, nothing else.

lol you obviously didnt read it properly.
It only allows a certain amount of games that Sony give you permission to use, you cant use it with anything else, you definatly cant use it with HDLoader.
What you want done wont work :)

HD loader was designed to by pass restrictions u know, it's not like sony would let the ps2 run HD loader but not PS3, and besides this proves my point that creating a partition is not just for the other os :]

Also a note, Sony can stop what they want, they stopped BR Java from running of extrernal devices and the also stopped certain Swap Magic discs running.
