I bought a used xbox 360 (with a broken dvd drive) to replace my RROD box and was just gonna swap drives. Anyways, i need to get the drive key off of the new drive so i can spoof the other drive. The drive is a Hitachi and i can get it into mode b with jungleflasher, and it is detected and shows under my computer. But the computer either freezes or returns a dump error when im getting the fw off of it.

So i did some googling and came to a few threads on this site that said that some members up here can read the TSOP and get the drivekey. I would like to get someone to help with that, i have paypal and all that. So message if you can help. Thanks.

tsop is a form factor of flash proms like dip packages and what not just a type of package. i have access to a bp programmer model 1410 that can read and reprogram almost any package type.

So then do you completely remove the flash chip and read it in your EPROM reader? If so, how is it getting it back into the console?

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

this is what i do for a living( not with xboxs but other high end electronics ) i am an electronics tech 3 so i test troubleshhot and repair stuff. And where i work they are nice enough to let me use any company equipment as long as i am not on company time. i have access to a BGA machine for reflows or out right replacements, couple thousand dollar soldering stations and the works. So to answer your question taking them off and putting them back on is not that diffucult but not something i would try on a home soldering iron at all.

well he explained it, but...i wouldn't really need to get it soldered back on anyways. i just need the drivekey from it so i can spoof my working drive.
