You want to pick your DVD burner.. Not the DVD Image burner.. Not sure what burning software you are using but there should be a "Choose recorder" option somewhere.. It should give you a option for you to select your burner model.. Ex: SONY DVD RW Dw-u18a. Select that instead of the "DVD Image recorder" Make sure your vob files are located in the Video_TS folder. Then try to burn again..

so i ruined one DVD r disc - this sucks when it comes to expirementing what a waste of money -- going to try to burn again ---

also i'm using Nero - my DVD r disc's says 4x on it and I don't know if my writer is that fast - could that be the reason ? also this problem didn't happen right away when i started to burn this happens like near the end - looks to be enough space when I read the bar it falls all "green" no red it's wierd - i used dvd shrink to get it right - VOB files created using the decrept tool -

I looked at the specs on your burner and it says that it does 8x burning which is nice.. So it's most likely not your media. If anything it could be the type of media you are using. Did it come with the burner? Do you have the latest firmware update for your drive? Also do you have ASPI drivers installed? I dont want to confuse you or anything just checking the basics.. Also when burning a DVD you don't do anything else while it's burning do you? It takes alot of system resources to burn DVD's. So it's best if you do something else while it's burning. Let me know

Um i bought it as external burner but i bought the disc sepretaly- so it probably is the disc - and the firmware for the drive ( you mean burner? ) is up to date because i just bought it - or at least I think it is - I don't know if i have ASPI drives - i do know that my computer won't allow the burner to do something called 2.0 usb speed ? or something - i won't do anything now while its burning ....never thought of that ..would that cause it to have errors ? anyways i find it wierd - ur saying its not the speed of my disc ? or the type ? thanks !

Just because you have a new drive doesn't exactly mean that it has the latest firmware. You should still check the sony web site just to be sure. If you dont have USB 2.0 you need some updates installed on your computer. USB 2.0 means Universal Serial Bus. The 2.0 version allows for faster transfer rates. I would also make sure my windows was up to date with the latest patches and drivers. Hope you get it running..

You will need to have all corresponding VOB + BUP + IFO files (so the DVD structure is in place) also the folder needs to be named VIDEO_TS <-- in caps ... for most writing apps to burn successfuly.

P.S. It's wisest to always leave your PC alone while it's burning btw !

for usb 2.0 you need the latest drivers for your motherboard installed!

it should run at that speed then!?

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

hi there

yes USB is a hardware! but it needs drivers to run it!

ok, you need o find out the exact spec make/model of your motherboard! then go to manufactures website and see if it will run at v2.0 and get the drivers rom the download part!

or do you have the motherboard drivers disc that came with your computer? also is it new? if not get them from website!!!
