My xbox 360 Samsung drive was patched with Xtreme 4.2 Firmware. I downloaded FIFA 10 which is a 3rd wave game and the drive does not read the disc. After doing some reserch on the forum I chose to upgrade the firmware to Xtreme 5.3A. The Drive still does not read the disc.

I should add few other things.

- All other 2nd wave games do play.
- Xbox 360 is banned online - I never intend to play online.
- I have wasted 2 DL as I thought the media could be at fault. (Always I use Verbatim disc)

Thanks for the info.

So Just to Confirm Xtreme 5.3A does not support playing Wave 3 or Wave 4 games. And the only way to play Wave 3, Wave 4 and all the previous games is to update the firmware to ixtreme 1.6.1.

I used a 360 with Samsung Xtreme 5.3c to play MW2 offline. It'll play those games because it doesn't check the video.iso.

To clarify: the old Xtreme firmware will play any game you throw at it. It doesn't care about stealth and it doesn't care about video partition (wave).

Newer iXtreme version started putting in these limits as security features. It is not a limitation of the firmware, merely a security check that did not exist in the past.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

Which version of 4.2 are you using... A or B? Both 4.2a 5.3a are 12x by default for backups. If you're not using quality media or have a bad burn you'll get disc read errors. Also, isn't fifa 10 region locked? I'm not positive but I thought it was. If it is, do you have the right region for your 360?

OK I have done more testing.

I am using 5.3A. I am also using Veratim 8x DL. Yes I did check and yes the FIFA 10 is region locked. But when inserting the disc it does not say its wrong region cd which normaly i get.

The other tests I did I downloaded Call of Duty MW2 and Tekken 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 which were al region free. Abgx360 confirmed these games are Wave 4. So I burnt all 3 and Tekken 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 worked fine, Which confirms on the Samsung 5.3A I can play Wave 3 and Wave 4 games.

The Call of Duty MW2 does not play and is behaving the same way the Fifa 10 is. I have wasted 5 Discs now and cannot understant what to do. I also changed the speed of buring to differnt levels but still they do not get read.

Any suggestions

Is your copy of MW2 region locked like your copy of FIFA is?

Sounds like you're either trying to burn bad rips, or you're using bad media and getting bad burns.

I also thought that I have downloaded bad rips. But I downloaded two different copies to check. Also the Abgx360 comes all green on both.

Maybe the issue is splitvid?

I wasn't around in the Xtreme days, so I don't know, but did that firmware require that the splitvid info be present?

If that were the issue, you could patch it in with abgx. You can check whether splitvid is present by just checking the file size of the iso. 7.05GB = no splitvid, 7.29GB = splitvid.

Just a shot in the dark.
