Hi everyone. I recently obtained Assassin's Creed 2 as an ISO file of 7.42 gigs or so.

I burned it onto a normal DVD-R (with firmware 1.5 on my xbox 360) and put it in, giving me the mixed media disc error.

I then proceeded to converting AC 2 from wave 4 to wave 3, then burned it another disk; I got the same mixed media disc error.

At the risk of losing another disk, is there any surefire way to make sure that i get it to work next time? Burning the game at 2.4x alone takes 50 minutes and lots of patience.

Thanks

You burned it on a DL DVD-R yes? If so, and not to sound patronising, but your Xbox has been flashed yes?

Try searching, its fun.

Wait, I really doubt it's a problem with my dvd-r dl disks. They're from memorex... and they're still not working. Any other suggestions, please?

By the way, I updated my dashboard to the latest (fall 2009) and the mixed media disc error still shows up.

John, you need to shut up. I never insulted you, for one. Secondly, it was a misunderstanding on the DVD-R thing, I meant DVD+R DL.

Thirdly, you didn't answer ANYTHING. I still have no clue as to how to solve this issue.

I've successfully burned several games on memorex, can anyone else validate the troll's opinion as to whether or not it makes a difference?

I patched assassin's creed 2 from a wave 4 to wave 3 and burned it on a memorex dvd+RDl cd. It didn't work, even after a dashboard update

not my fault you said three times it was a dvd dl r-,and since im a troll for trying to help you out then i might as well not answer your question and tell you to SEARCH. every person on this site will tell you verbs are better but that is not what is the problem for you.and if you would of thought about if it was + or - your problem would of been answered but i will take blame,my bad, good luck

Thanks. Regardless, I never questioned whether memorex was better or worse than vet....

I tried burning AC 2 with imgburn at 2.4x speed and it seemed to work, but now the game shows up as "play dvd" and the xbox is trying to read it as a dvd, so I can't play the game.

Any suggestions?

No thanks to john donne, problem solved. The disk type did not matter, as I thought.

I had a firmware of 1.5 and was burning AC 2 of wave 3 with my normal DVD burner : all wrong things.

With firmware 1.5, you must burn it with wave 2, and with imgburn at 2.4x speed.

well unless you have a bad computer or burner just burn at the speed the disc is rated for and i assume its 8x so burn at that or 4x not 2.4 unless it is the 2.4x disc. ac2 is wave 4 so u need 1.61 or the activation disc to play it,not sure if 1.5 is what u have and don't know if that plays wave 4.
