Hey everyone

Is it possible to remove the fans sensor wire to make it run at constant full speed? Don't care about the noise want to keep it as cool as possible all the time as it's overheating pretty quick and the fans don't seem to speed up at all.

If so which wire is the sensor?

Thanks.

if the fan doesnt speed up that means that there is no need to speed up.
even tho that you may think that is hot.
Have you though that if the fan is working all the time at full speed will die sooner?
Have you ever cleaned up your PS3 or blow it with an compressed air spray to put the dust out?

Ok then you have an issue there for sure.
Maybe the fan is faulty that is why doesnt ever speeds up and causing the OH.
What PS3 version you have?

It's the 60GB PS3, although i don't see why the fan problem would stop the TV output? I got it to show once but after 2minutess the screen had green lines everywhere and just froze maybe the RX chip is actually damaged?

let me get this straight,
your PS3 is OverHeating and turns off?
turns off the video output after overheating?
or it doesnt output picture at all from second 1 and overheats?

PS3 turns on perfectly and sits there running but doesn't output anything to the TV, it slowly gets hot then too hot to touch but continues to run until i turn it off.

IMO I dont think that by keeping it cool will bring the display back on.
If the RSX is getting super hot and the fan does not rev up and by having in mind that you dont get a display....
I hope that i am as wrong as possible with this.
i think that something is fried in there and that is why it cant even send command to the fan to rev up, i guess is the RSX.

I had this problem and believe it or not, it was a defective power cable. Try another power cable.
