MKV with DTS problem

Hi,

I recently installed ps3 media server, I have a few movies in MKV (DTS sound) format.

I choose movie from Ps3 media server on my XMB and the movie plays, but the all i get for sound is a hissing noise.

Is there a known way arounds this.

I have my ps3 conntect via HDMI to TV and optical to SOny AMp

just to add to this i am choosing transcode folder then trying all options to see if sound plays but it does not

I follow same procedure with my WMV HD movies (which did not work until i used ps3 media server) these play flawlessly

since when does the ps3 play mkv files? did u convert the mkv to mpg and transcode dts to ac3?

ps3 plays MKV sinvce I use Ps3 Media Server, and yes I got it working

if you change the output of the ps3 from optical back to HDMI do you get sound?
try it just to check if the audio comes properly from the PC to PS3.
