Using patched games on liteon drive?

Hi

I have been trying to find this out for a while.

I have a liteon (I think 1.51 i got it done in June or July) drive and it is banned from xbl. I have tried patching games but it just says play dvd, does the liteon drive not allow patched games? I patched them to wave 2 as I have another spare console and they work fine on that but not the liteon one. Looking to sell it but cannot until I figure out how to do it, cheers
