First i would like to say i know this is the wrong section to be asking this but. When i first learned how to burn DVDs you guys were the smarts; you had it down to a science.

I found this video on youtube
proving it is possible to burn full playstation 3 games to a DVD still in full P.

But it doesn't show how to burn it and what program to use. Second I know hem was downloading the games i know that is illegal i just want to be able to back up my games just in case.

So i ask you guys do you know how to burn PS3 games and what programs do you use and what process do you use.

Thanks

Blair

Burn them however you want. it doesn't matter since ps3's cant read backup games anyway. any video you watch saying otherwise is full of it.

There is no way of doing it, any video on Youtube showing some moron doing it is fake and any one who beleives such video's is a bigger idiot than the person who created it.

EDIT:
Check this thread, http://www.haxnetwork.net/showthread.php?t=10166 , it has that video you showed.

Not necessarily. The person who created it is obviously smart as s/he knows that some people will believe the video. The idiots are the people who believe it off the bat. :P

But yeah, you can easily rip your PS3 disc using a Phat PS3 and a Linux OS. The only problem is that, like porosus said, you can't burn them onto a Blu-Ray disc (or any disc, for that matter) and expect to be able to play them.

And that's not even taking into account the fact that ripping doesn't get all of the data anyway.

I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO BURN PS3 GAMES...

It isn't easy with that coating, but if you paint both sides of the disk with oil-based paint, it will burn!

Ok, I tried your method. I think I did something wrong. Is the one that I burnt the original or the back up? Either way, one wont play now and I cant find the other.

I?m gona try again when I get home today. Your method must be true because i read it on the internet.

If the intent of the person is to flood Afterdawn with "how do I make a copy of my PS3 game" questions, then he is a maniacal genius.

LOL, I remember 10 or more years ago searching for the method to burn CD's. Some dude gave step-by step instructions that seemed like he was genuine, but the last step ended with inserting the CD in a toaster :P There were even before and after pictures, showing a successfully burnt CD...classic stuff!

^^^ Easy you take 2 pliers and...well you get the idea ;)

But if you are asking "seriously" then you know better than that Kaj! But it is as simple as going to aD's Blu-ray Discussion Forum and looking around in there! But here is the shortcut ~ The complete HD (Blu-ray/HD-DVD) back-up thread by Ryu77

If i burn blue-ray movies i would use
DVDFab 6.2.0.5

Then after ripping it to my comp i would use

BD Rebuilder.

That sucks that no one knows how to burn perfect copys of ps3 games.

1.) I think you missed the point there. You see, I was following along with Killer and his method on burning PS3 discs.

He was placing the statement within the context of literally burning the PS3 disc, meaning put it on fire. I was also playing on words - in this case, the dual meanings of the word "rip."

Hence the humor.

2.) It does not suck. It's actually quite good. We don't get as many idiot pirates in our area this way, unlike the 360 forum, which is, unfortunately, filled to the brim with jacktard pirate tweens who don't have and/or want to pay for what someone else has devoted weeks, sometimes months, and sometimes years of their lives to creating.

1.) There are no burners capable of burning to the part of the disk where the copywrite protection is.
2.) There are no blank medias that allow you to write to the part of the disk where the protection is.
3.) Even if 1 and 2 existed, there is no software to use these features.
4.) Even if 1-3 were adressed, you would still be risking your precious PS3 by playing pirated games online, as even old PS2 games had unique disk identifiers.

There are no useful hacks for the PS3 at all, from an end user point of view. The PS3 remains completely secure.

Funny how piracy is used as an excuse for why prices are so high, yet the games for the PS3 are still as high, if not higher than games for other consoles, even though it has not suffered at all from piracy. Kind of defies logic.

You can't point the finger at Sony really because the cost of the console continues to go down. However the game developers don't seem to be passing on any savings to consumers at all, which is something that anti-piracy supporters have claimed would happen if piracy was not a factor.

Is piracy the cause of high game prices??? Hmmmmm.... I'm sure they have a different excuse for it.

-It is generaly agreed that pirates buy more media than anyone else...typicaly paying for about 1/4 of what they get, and getting 6-8 times more than the average non-pirate. Given this, they could just as easily claim that PS3 games are so expensive because there are not enough pirates using the PS3...but then how would they explain the prices on the 360? Fact is that there is no excuse for charging $60 for a game, especialy when most games have less than 24 hours of gameplay to get 100% completion. PC games do not sell as well as console games (fewer gaming PCs than consoles). Plus, piracy is downright easy on the PC...most games are released with copy protection that is broken before they even start pressing disks. PCs never get "bricked" because of pirated games, and require no mod chips. If a copied game does not work, then it isn't a big deal...just a waist of a download...not even a waisted disk if you use Daemon Tools. In spite of these facts (or perhapse because of them), PC games sell for $40-$50 when new, and quickly drop to the $10-$20 in most cases.

No chip on the disk, just extra sectors that cannot be copied, and a disk layout that gets garbled if you try to burn it rather than press it. To give you an idea of what the second one is, they might make a line of "1" sectors that goes strait across the disk, and is part of the copy protection. When copied to blank media, these "1" sectors no longer form a line, despite being in the correct order, because the blank disk isn't laid out exactly like the pressed disk is.

They also used "half written" sectors on the PS2...these are sectors that read as a "1" at full power, but read as a "0" with slightly less than full power, but still enough power to read a fully burned "1". I am not sure if they also use this for the PS3; as I understand that Datel figured out a way of getting around this...but I don't think burned disks were able to replicate this because the laser always has to be in a higher-power mode to read a burned disk.

Yes, because there are a lot of pirates who would rather spend $60 a year for online play, while risking bricking their systems, rather than buying a superior system where you have to pay for games...even if you only have to pay 1/5 as much for many of them.

I have recently become a pirate (not by choice; but now that screenshots are considered piracy, I think there are a lot of accidental pirates). The cartels have gone too far, and I no longer feel any guilt in stealing media...in fact every time I buy a movie, game, cd, or application, I feel like I am giving money to terrorists. In spite of this, I still don't want a 360...if I am going to pirate games, I'll pirate them on a platform that seems designed for piracy...the PC. No need for modchips, custom firmware, boot disks, or anything...you don't even have to burn disks; just load the image up with daemon tools.
