Does left 4 dead 2 work on 1.6?

Hey,
I am using an xbox 360 flashed to 1.6. I downloaded and burnt left 4 dead 2 but can't get it to work. I put the activate disk in and let it load, I then take it out and replace it with the left 4 dead 2 disk. The xbox will not read the disk and just says "open tray". I don't understand why it is doing this. I can load GTA episodes and Assassins creed 2 using the activate disk without any problems. Every other game I use with the activate iso works fine and the torrent comments seem to indicate that it should work fine. Any ideas why this wont play?

"Wave 5 game" Basically you need to either gamble and let your console update via live or rent a copy of L4D2 ------> it will automatically install it. You can also try and look for the current update floating around the internet and update with a USB drive.



You will need the current dashboard update to play this using the activate disk.

It works for me on 1.6 with activate.iso. I was already on dashboard version 2.0.8955.0 so I wasn't prompted to update. Dunno if that makes any difference.

Interesting. So if I rent the game and update
I won't loose the ability to play other backup games right? Nothing bad happens from updating via the l4d2 disk right?

i think you can use the november 09 dashboard update. It is in the xbox official website.just put it in a usb pen drive and plug it in.

I updated my dashboard and still get the same result. It trys to load for a few seconds then says "open tray".

I burned it twice. Neither worked. The torrent is the most popular l4d2 torrent on the site with many posts saying it works. Still im gonna download a different version and give it a try. Any other suggestions would be appreciated though.

I had the same problem, burned twice and would not work even with active iso. I looked on youtube and saw a video on "wave patching". I downloaded "360 wave patcher" I used it to patch the game to a "wave 2", and it worked! Probably not recommended you use it online tho.
