The team behind D2SUN has announced a new interesting product which replaces the WiiDVD drive with an enclosed 2.5" SATAHD interface and USB 2.0 port. There is also an optional 2-in-1 version with ATA HD interface and CF card slot. SUNDRIVER supports all current consoles including the latest ones with D3-2 drive and 4.2J firmware. Installed games can be selected using three different methods; either by using switch on the front panel (disc slot), from PC via USB 2.0 interface or by using a GameCube controller from Wii disc menu. Check the official site for more info.
if there's a way to directly access the drive without removing it, then they got something. and it replacing the disc drive would mean better read speed than usb.
hope that HBC and configurable usb loader will make a new revision with that in mind, because it looks like you need to keep it hooked up to a computer.

From the pictures, it would appear that there is a mini usb sticking out of the disk slot. I would think that you can load additional games on that way.

it is the way. the site is poorly written, so it takes a while to understand.
but after thinking about it, you can get a 2.5" drive enclosure for cheap. and say you want to take your games and use it on another wii. you'd have to take the system apart, remove the sundriver, disassemble the other wii just to put the sundriver in. the usb enclosure is much more portable and easier to use, not to mention, easier to hide from the kids.

All good points. However, usb doesn't work for Gamecube games and that's a must for my household.
