I recently brought an xbox 360 with a broken drive, thinking of replacing it. I got the replacement, flashed it and is still doing the same as the old drive "Please put this disk in a Xbox 360 console". This was happening before and was advertised as needing a new drive. Tried reflashing about 10 times and nothing, replaced the laser and drive itself and nothing. Anyone else had this problem?? Any way to work around this or is it totally shot!? Even tried fixing it by doing the RROD fix incase it was related somehow any guess what! NOTHING!.
Maybe the drive that was in the console, wasnt the drives original console, therefore drive and motherboard keys do not match.
This means any serial key you got from the drive wont work on that console, as the drive is for a different console. Hence why its not reading any games.
