hi just purchased a eurovox but turns out to be a clone, hadnt realised until i had downloaded the software now dead
is there anyway i can get the original fta firmware back onto it
i thought i had ordered the ex5100 pvr but hadnt and got the ex5000 clone

well to be fair, the cost of returns to a supplier is the same for all suppliers, they aint gonna cover the cost of return shipping, they will cover the repair or replacement of the boxs, but shipping no.

just had a reply to my email earlier and i quote "

The original manufacturer or Eurovox ceased trading back in 2008, this opened up the ability for different manufacturers to manufacturer the boxes. Therefore there is no such thing as a cloned eurovox anymore. Can you please tell me what the problems you are having with the boxes and then maybe I can be of assistance.

its a cloned box and the firmware bricked it, so dont let them fob you off about who manufactures what, the firmware for those boxs were made with the intent to kill "cloned" versions of the 5000, the firmware was designed by the offcial makers of that box to do this, the cloned boxs were identified by the silver heatsink and the firmware was stated to kill clone versions,

Pic courtesy of the guys at TKings which is also on here as part of a thread, if the pic of the clone is your box when you look inside, you can tell your supplier, bullshit is for spreading on fields and not for their customers

yes they look like the pic with the silver heat sink, havent opened them as i have an original ex5000 which i purchased not long after they were available so looked through the vents to identify
mine (orifinal is black the 2 i received yesterday are silver
will wait to see what comes back fronm my email, i mentioned how i had identified them as clones ( silver heat sink and poor quality, plus loop is slightly bent on one box)also the fact i had trawled forums to identify

i have put a dispute in with paypal so they will receive an email just hope i get my money back or there wont be any pressies for the kids this christmas because i am going to have to shell out for more boxes from another supplier

he says he can sort it and put clone safe software on it
