putting custom firmware on the wii easy or hard?

Hi, i've had a look but can't find out... is it easy to mod the wii?? easy as a psp?? or harder like an xbox 360??

also do backup games get put onto cd's dvd's or like a file (iso) the reason i need to know is because i back up all my 4 years old games... and i am thinking of getting him a wii for xmas.. just checking out first...

hi mandy the newer wiis cannot be modded. You need to buy an older model wii and yes its pretty tough to mod the wii if you cant read directions causing a brick etc. I suggest you look at larrys guide to mod the wii following it step by step if you can get your hands on an older wii.

as for backing up games its just using wii dumper or super dump. Youll need homebrew. If not go out and buy an lg drive.

WiiGenius seems a little confused. Of course the newer wii's can be modded. Follow this guide to install custom firmwares on any wii except some korean models.

And it's pretty easy to do so long as you take it slow and follow the directions one step at a time. Fully bricking the wii is always possible when mucking with the firmware, but so long as you follow the directions carefully it is unlikely to cause any damage.

thanks for the info :) if i was to back up games do they go onto discs?? or do i run them from a memory card?? like a psp or harddrive??
